Baltimore Country Club -East Course.

Someone get me on at Caves will ya?  "I'll make it worth your while...wink,wink,wink,wink"

For those who played Augusta, you need to provide a little bit more detail.  How you got on, how you played, did you pee on the azaleas...etc.

Most Exclusive I've ever got on would have to be Beacon Hill Country Club in Atlantic Highlands, NJ.  It's out in the middle of no man's land.  We played a high school match there.  While out on the course, we had members question us multiple times while playing, who we were, where we came from.  I guess there was a miscommunication between members and the home team's coach.

Played quite a few exclusive courses, but the most exclusive would have to be the alotian

Just a thought......         If a course has a daily fee it isn't exclusive.

Sand Hills

For many reasons, it is the #1 course in the world to me and was fortunate enough to get to play it due to a very generous person I met through Golfwrx.  I can still see and feel almost any shot throughout the 99 holes we played there in 2 days.  Unbelievable memory.  And the best part is that I was able to take my Dad who had just as much fun as I did.

When I lived in Phoenix some courses in Scottsdale like Troon and Desert Highlands and Forest Highlands in Flagstaff.  There are some other ones I don't remember just because the names are made up sounding.  They sound cool but are probably a word to describe something mundane in Spanish or a Native American tongue.  There is certainly a lot of cool things about real exclusive courses.  Desert Highlands has a putting course that is more fun than most golf courses. If your a member there and aren't a good putter I don't know what your excuse is because you can spend a whole day on that thing it's unbelievable. Also I never realized how much easier it is to putt on well maintained greens until going to those places.  The ball does not deviate from your line.  I have also met some of the most interesting and nicest which isn't really suprising I guess maybe those traits contributed to their success.  The only thing I don't like is I have had a couple situations where members where making fun of people.  It's liked they assumed I was one of them when I was more like those who they were putting down.  Just an akward thing where I felf like standing up for myself and others but then was like well maybe It can wait after the round.  When the end of the round comes I was like "well I want to get invited again", so I just kind of keep quiet.  I don't play those places anymore  but one of the main reasons I am trying to get better is so I can play courses I would never have a chance to play.

In a way this is a very sad topic. Having grown up in the UK given a decent enough handicap and an introduction from your club secretary you could play any golf club in the country from Wentworth to Woodhall Spa I really can't remember a course you couldn't get on to before the advent of the super exclusive courses in the late 90's, an idea sadly imported from the US!

Anyways to play the game here's a few of mine...

Muirfield - site of the 2013 Open Championship and possibly the greatest course I've played, hard but not impossible to get on.
Valderrama  - site of the 1997 Ryder cup and Europe's answer to Augusta (except you can get on there if you have 350 euro to burn)
Royal Hong Kong at Fanling - where they play the tournament that Jiminez just won
Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath in Melbourne - great sandbelt courses
Tanah Merah Country Club and Sentosa CC - where they play the Mens and Womens Singapore Opens
Lake Nona - Orlando
Somerset Hills - New Jersey
Winged Foot - New York

The Carnegie Club just outside Dornoch in Scotland was an amazing experience, its a one of a kind in the UK and fastly becoming a VERY good course, lucky if it sees 20 rounds a week and is the preserve of the richest families in Europe.

Also played Queenwood in the UK, the Wisley which is not as exclusive but still up there and been to Loch Lomond over 20 times.

Need to start hitting the US, been invited to play Nantucket in the summer and Carnegie Abbey
Carnegie Abby is a fun track and I play it once every summer. That's probably the more exclusive I've ever played.

National Golf Links of America and Maidstone.  TPC of Boston, Hyannisport GC, Wood's Hole GC, Charles River and Black Rock CC.  National and Maidstone are definitely the top 2 though.
