Majority of the time, W-R-X, otherwise people may get confused.

Yeah, but there is a golfworks site actually. I would pronounce it works, but if I'm referring to the site it's W-R-X.

Golf Galaxy's are new to our area so I didn't know "golfworks" existed so I always refered to it as "golfworks" but now I am forcing myself to clarify it as w-r-x.

I'm no genius but..... WRX is pings custom department. The works (wrx) comes from the racing world and is most associated with motorcycles. I f you are a Honda factory rider you are on a works bike. If you pickk up a old team bike you have a works bike. wrx being a shorter version of works. Draw the wrx to golf and what do you have but supertuned golf equipment. So to use the initials w-r-x is to not be in the know, which you now have no reason not to be in the know.

Now in reference to the site, hey maybe the originator 's name is Wallace Randolph Xanadu. But I doubt it.

you certainly got the "no genius" part right. looks to me like a rules official (Gxgolfer) already made a ruling on this.

i'm usually happy just playing lurky-loo, but this is one of the dumber posts i have seen here (and yes, i read where you typed that magnet headcovers are too heavy for caddies to carry and that fujikura speeders should not be tipped, only butt-trimmed).

if you really want to play the "not in the know" game, "wrx" was the aar reporting mark for the western refrigerator line company established in 1921. 60 years later it became part of the burlington northern railroad (bn). so everything else is just a copy-cat.

Nice first post . . . and welcome to the site. While stp's post was certainly not as informative as he had intended, there's no reason for personal attacks . . . even though the "genius" and "not in the know" comments almost begged a response. :cheesy:

Thats said, as has been mentioned more than once, "wrx" is short for "works" and is used in several contexts. Obviously we are talking golf, so context must be understood. Kind of one of those social nicities . . . like if I ask you how you are doing: I don't really care, just answer that you are fine.
