Format needs to change to three teams:

1)Americas-North.Central and South

2) Europe/Africa/Mid East

3) Austal/Asia - South and East Asia, Austrlaia,NZ and S Pacfic Islands.

Too much talent outside of USA and Europe that is being denied tehir des.

I disagree....

1) The Solheim Cup is one thing associated with women's golf that currently works....no need to change this

2) There is a second international event but I can't recall what it's called....it matches the Asian countries vs the Internationals (including USA)....think of the men's President's Cup

There WAS the Lexus Cup, last contested in 2008. The captain of the international team was Annika Sorenstam with Se Re Pak as captain of the Asia team. This was a Ryder Cup like tournament that pitted an international team vs. Asian players... basically everyone else against Korea, Japan, and the Philipines. This had been an annual event for about 3 years -- not on schedule this year. There also was a Women's World Cup. In this tournament, 2-person teams from each country duked it out. Can't find this one either on the LPGA site, which leads me to believe that sponsorship has been lost. As much as we here on golfwrx.com may support the LPGA and recognize the world-wide nature of the LPGA tour, the world-wide economy has been unable to sustain sponsor support for these events. Play an event outside of the US without US broadcast, and nobody knows. Sort of like the old parable of the tree that falls without a sound in the woods. The Solheim Cup exists at the pleasure of the Solheim family -- if you want to change that format, you'll have to take it up with the widow and her sons.
