OK, I have been well-aware of this now for quite a long period of time, but now I think it's time to address Tiger Woods spitting at every given oppotunity.

I don't know how much time he's been watching El Hadji Diouf and Wayne Rooney, but it's got to stop now. Spitting on the tee, spitting on the fairway and even spitting on the green - it's just horrible and you would certainly not expect this in the game of golf and even worse, it's setting a very bad example.

I can't remember which commentator on Sky Sports who addressed his spitting this evening at the Bridgestone Invitational, but it's just refreshed my thoughts on this issue and I think it's time he stops.

Seems a bit unnecessary doesnt it. Maybe he has a cold atm, but can he not afford tissues?

I can probably speak for Tiger and go ahead and say, "And who are you again?".

Who we are has nothing to do with it. Its a game of etiquette and spitting all over the golf course esp greens is not in the spirit of the game is it. Whats next? Will he take a piss on the green if there isnt a portable toilet on that hole? Is that ok just because he is tiger?

well I have to say I spit quite a bit as well especially when allergies flare up. I can't help it as my sinus's over produce mucus and such so I have to expell it as it's not good to swallow what drips into my throat. I try to be respectful about it which is easier for me as camera's and thousands of people aren't around me non stop. Also have you ever watched a baseball game? Non stop spitting.

i'm fine with him spitting on the greens, considering numerous guys on tour spit their tobacco out there on the course, i think his spit is harmless....another case of tiger being shone in a bad light simply due to his every move being televised and watched with a careful eye. Nobody else gets that...he's not the only one who swears, and he's not the only one who spits or whacks his club down after a bad shot...we just see his every move. Thus why Watson felt for him in a new way after the British Open, given all the attention Watson was given just for a few days...thats Tiger's life.

And this is why this arguement holds no water.... Id rather Tiger spit than see John Daly, Tim Herron and all of the rest who smoke puffing away at their cancer sticks while on TV. Quit your crying

LOL im sorry! Honestly i cudnt give flying f*ck! , he can take a sh*t on the green if he likes, wudnt bother me!

I don't think Tiger Woods is suffering from any sort of allergy reaction because he's doing it every week.

It certainly looks bad on camera, doesn't it. People say What's wrong with spitting? Haha... there was a law overturned in the past few years... some state had a law that you are to be shot to death or something for spitting on the sidewalk. Really!

Seriously, I don't think anyone on this board has to worry about putting through Tiger's spit.

He is watering the grass , which is a good thing. Complaining about spitting ? That's got absolutely nothing to do with Tiger's game or golf. The man carries himself extremely well on and off the course and is an outstanding role model.

I could of sworn tiger suffers from allergies but I could be wrong, either way my allergies can effect me for months at a time then be fine for a few months. It depends where I am (travel a lot) and what kind of tree's/flowers I'm around.

OK to the people who approve of his spitting, I'll find all your addresses of the golf club's you play at, turn up and just start spitting on the greens and lets see how you would react to that.

Spitting bothers people this much? Really? I don't even like TW but complaining about him spitting is pretty weak.

So what you're saying is that allergies only act up every two or three weeks...? Really spitting...? Is this what is comes down to?

You know this kinda reminds me of my sister.... She was always on the case of this girl in school (who was really nice btw); she found fault with her all the time. The way she wore her hair, the way she she walked, how she chewed her gum.... We all knew it was either jealousy or some other un-namble emotion. She didn't even know the girl personally. Just didn't like her for some reason. Weird, huh?

You can spit all you want it wont bother me. Just make sure you fix your ball marks, rake the bunkers and replace your divots.

It's not really a very attractive trait though is it? ..... I always believed golf was a better sport than most, i'd expect it in football , baseball etc. these are aerobic sports which generate mucus,....... golf not so much.

He knows he has a camera under his nose at all times,....... he should at the very least, be asked about it .....in the same way Sergio was.

I could care less I for one spit on the greens, fairways, on my ball (to clean), on my club (to clean). I don't do it on purpose but if I have spit I'm going to spit. Last time I checked golf courses are still outside right?

If you have allergies you can either spit it out now or let it drain into your lungs so that you can cough it up in your playing partner's backswing later...

Spitting in the cup is a whole different story. That is wrong. Anyone who does that should be ripped a new one, even Tiger.

Tiger is on the record in the past saying he suffers from seasonal allergies. It's the start of ragweed season and I'm suffering too even with the over the counter stuff.

There is a much smaller chance of hitting a quarter sized spot of spit on a 3000 sq ft green than it is of hitting it in the bottom of a cup where your ball is guaranteed to end up. IMO of course

Spitting don't bother me at all. I only get offended when people say "darn", '"shoot" or "dang". Enough already! These fake swearing darn-tootin-whipper-snappers make me violently ill.

That is not the point.... the point is the lack of respect to other players.

according to Sergio he ensured there was no way that his spit could've ended up on his opponents ball( of course that may or may not be true)
