I can't believe my golf vacation coming at the end of August - already set for Pebble Wednesday, Spyglass Thursday and Cypress Point on Saturday. But as you can probably guess, it's getting pretty pricey.

Just need a recommendation for Friday.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Reif

I haven't played Bayonet since the renovation, but I would still choose Pasa ten times out of ten, regardless. You're a lucky man to get onto Cypress! Don't forget to take lots of pics (and post them here ).

Having played Pasatiempo many, many times, and recently having played both Fort Ord courses since the redo, I would say that Pasatiempo...to me, is NOT worth what they are asking for it nowadays. If money isn't an issue, play it to say you have....but I think you'll get just as much enjoyment out of Bayonet.

Congrats on the Cypress tee-time by the way...

At those two price points, I'd pick Bayonet.

Well, it's been a few months but I wanted to check back and say thanks for the suggestions.

We wound up playing Pebble, Spyglass, Bayonet and Cypress.

Bayonet was in great shape and a fun course.

The weather was awesome, I made an eagle 2 at #3 at Pebble and a par on 16 at Cypress, so the week was just perfect!

Wow! Awesome that you got to play Cypress, which is on the top ten list of just about every golfer. I played it in the early 70s and still remember bits and pieces. Not only that, it's blue skies and shirt sleeves! For those that don't know, cool, gray and cloudy is typical of the area. Thanks for posting.

Reif is that grandad with you there as well? Wow, what an absolutely great bunch of pictures and memories. 3 generations on the 18th Tee at pebble? It just doesn't get any better. Congrats on the whole experience.

I have an amazing wife who is OK with for our 1 year anniversary going to the Monterray area in September and I get to play Pebble as my present. How easy is it to walk on as a single? We aren't going to stay in the lodge. The one caveat with this is she is going to walk the course with me. Any problem with that?

No, the other gent is just another guest of the Cypress member.

It was a fantastic experience.

I don't know how easy it is to walk on, but make sure you call ahead of time and ask when they are punching the greens/fairways.

That's about the time of year they do that.

Glad you guys liked the pics, here's just a couple more.

Something was wrong with my camera, so I didn't get any pictures at Spyglass.

Another shot of the 13th (I think) tee box at Cypress. You can't see it, but just to the right where you can see the grass in the background the guy has a putting green on his front lawn. Oh, how the other half lives!

Stillwater Bar and Grill at Pebble - Pricey, but what a view! That's 18 in the background.

Cypress is awesome. Make sure you spend time in the men's locker room, very very cool.

If you haven't played Pasatiempo, its probably worth the go. Sign up for an NCGA membership (like $80 I think) and you can get the running discount, which is like $135 or somehting. Great course - but lousy finish with 17 and 18.

Rather than Pasatiempo, I would suggest MPCC Shore. Killer track.
