A real class act from them both these idiots tonite. Prior to this I had at least a thought Chamblee to be basically decent as an announcer and golfer but he's shown his true colors as a stuck-up, rich white, country club stereotype

Both he and Lerner sitting in their comfy chairs, having a good laugh at John Daly and Boo Weekley's expense, openly comparing them to the Jerry Springer show and from Lerner; 'Who would you rather see hoist the claret jug, Daly or Weekley?" and Chamblee's response, "I would rather listen to Boo in the post round interviews"

These two tossers were basically alluding to Daly and Weekley being nothing more than a side show of toothless, redneck entertainment. While I am not a defender of Daly's train-wreck of a life, this crap from these guys tonite really pissed me off :angry22:

Ok, just my opinion and rant over, I just feel like the comments made by these two were made in a completely inappropriate fashion.

Just saw the same show and thought pretty much the same, total lack of class.

I didn't see the show, so I cannot quite comment on that, but from what you posted Chamblee's comment seemed in no way out of line to me. I do find Boo Weekly entertaining so I probably would have answered the same way. Maybe I am just a "stuck-up, rich white, country club" a**-hole, who knows.

And by the way are John Daly and Boo Weekly not also white? Just not sure how that ties in.

My neck is more red than most people you will ever meet (anyone else gone snake wrangling while on a vacation to West Virginia). I thought it was pretty funny and wasn't offensive in the least. And I doubt Weekly or Daly would have found it offensive. IMO, these are two of the most purely talented guys on tour in the last 10 years. But, they are not cut out of the typical PGA Tour mold. No sense pretending they are. But, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

i agree. they are claseless and love to laugh at others experience. be nice to see them get off their high horse. i remember when, i THINK, chamblee, did an interview with tadd fujikawa right after his father went to prison for drug possession or something. put him right on the spot on live tv. i just hate the way they conduct their interviews and have no regard for the people they are interviewing. they think they are so much better than everyone else.

I'm thinking it was Learner who did the tasteless thing with poor young Tadd?

I had it on in the background and I only half watched it, but from what I gathered Chamblee just meant that he enjoys Boo's post round interviews because of his Boo'isms.

...as do I.

I can't really speak about what rich Lerner meant. He's kind of a tool. But I'll back Chamblee because historically he's been a stand up guy and never offensive.

it's lerner trying to set chamblee up. i think chamblee was trying to avoid the trap... he's not that stupid to fall for lerner's tricks... Lerner's the total jerk

Absolutely. Boo Weekly is well known for his infamous "home of golf" speech, and he was laughing as he gave it. Both Daly and Weekly are notoriously fun guys, and were probably laughing right along with it. They strive to be different, that's what makes them fun to watch. Boo Weekly trys to look like a total redneck, that's his persona.

BTW, for those of you who didn't know, Daly did hoist the claret jug in 1995.
