Hey everyone,

I was curious as to whether anyone has any experience with kevin colbert of putter plating.  I know slighter is big on the forums and is a great guy but colbert offers more finishes.  Does anyone have any experience with him?  Also does anyone know if he will sand out any small nicks in the putter before he refinishes it?

Thanks,

Adam

I sent a Newport TeI3 LN to Kevin, and it came back absolutely perfect.  I would highly recommend him, as he offers GREAT customer service.  I can't speak for the others, but Kevin Colbert did a great job for me.

Kevin's done work on several putters for me.  He does great work.  I wouldn't hesitate to send your stick to him.

One difference between Kevin and Tom Slighter is that Colbert typically engraves initials and the like, while Slighter tends to prefer stamping them.

I hope he is as good as these posts indicate because I have been waiting for him to get my putter back for almost 3 months. He has had it since April 24th and I am very anxious to get it back. I was told it was at the engravers on May 24th, I paid the invoice he sent me then I was told 3 weeks later that the engraver had yet to start on his order. I contacted him again last week and he replied while he was on holidays that the engraver would have my putter ready upon his return which was yesterday. I messaged him and I am still waiting to hear if my putter is actually all done and if not an actual date that it will be sent back. My golf season here in Canada is short and now its half over, I want my beautiful re-finished Colber putter back ASAP.

He does good work.  Have to ask though, why wait until april to send it when you knew your golf season was coming up?  Doesn't make sense since custom work can take a long time.

He has had my putter for two months and all I'm doing is black oxide finish . He had it for a month and a half before he even started. Don't know what's wrong with him, but I'm still waiting so I don't recommend him.

KWGGolf, who cares how old the post is, he is still in business. I really dont care about when I sent it , I used my old putter so its all good but I asked for a timeline 3x, never got one, I got replies saying it was at the engravers then 1 month later another saying he was bringing it to the engraver. Then 1.5 months later I got the putter. Check out the posts about his timelines, very poor.

I really do not care I am just saying that after waiting that long it better be worth it. Newsflash, the finish did not last one freaking minute!! I putted 20 balls and the face was all marked up. The head cover even took some of the finish off by just rubbing the putter head. He told me to send it back, and he would re-do it free of charge. The head was also not installed properly and was loose. I will wait to pass judgement until I get the putter back again since bad luck can happen to anyone but right now all I can do is hope for the best and for his reputation to be warranted.

Kevin has asked that I send him the putter back and he will make it all good for me. My season is over so off the putter goes for another make-over.

He has been pretty straight forward and wants to make it right and he deserves that opportunity. I am confident that he will do a great job.

I just wish the communication was a little better. I am local to him. I was told to drop it off so it could make the next batch. And I was told 2 weeks. Well that's came and gone and when I asked about a simple ETA. I got no reply.. I'll give it another week and then I'm calling/showing up.
