Snapped these today. Take a look and you will see what everyone else has been talking about. These heads are very different from another. More than just size but the shape and overall look is totally different.

Richard, thanks for the comparison pictures.  If they both didn't have "FT-9" on the sole you'd think they were completely different clubs released at different times and not part of the same product line.  They're THAT different from what I see.

I think the TA FT9 looks REALLY similar to the FT fairways in overall shape, almost identical.

Interesting how Callaway listens to its contracted pros to get back to the FT-3 shape. "Normal" hosel too. Good job. FT-3 is a beast.

What's that got in it for shaft??  I'd be willing to trade my retail FT-9 I-Mix for your "T"our with hosel Jobbie..   I truly like the traditional look to that Tour head, looks awesome.

The TA looks like a FT3 from address, the face resembles the Hyper X, while the sole incorporates the new Ft-9 design. Looks like a nice blend of Callaway's best.

Great comparison pics Richard, man do these 2 clubs look nite and day different... reminds me of the TM r540XD / r580XD retail and the R540XD and R580XD Tour versions

Man, that TA looks about 3* open compare to that FT9 tour. Totally agree with the looks like the FT3 shape with an hossel.

Callaway is just stupid not releasing this driver to retail. I would be the first one buying one!

It's funny.. I'm willing to bet if the model were reversed(regular version was TA, and the TA was the regular) people would be ooooo'ing and aaaaa'ing about how cool the regular version is and how much they want one :P

I can't stand the look of the new pancake shaped drivers: FT-9, R9 etc etc. I would never play one.

It's all subjective, but the FT-3 is one of the best looking heads ever.

I was going to say the TA looked much more like the FT-5 vs the FT-9 but I guess I can see a bit of the 3 in there

Agreed. It'd be nice if they sold these retail (without the 4 figure price tag)

I'm liking the FT-9 Tour 8.5 Draw with a stock Zcom 65 x. I'd like the same in the FT-9 TA ASAP please! Thanks Cally!

The Tour Authentic is 430cc and is more workable for tour players in which Phil Mickelson uses it to hit that elusive Draw or Fade.
The FT-9 is for the average golfer who needs forgiveness off the tee. With a larger club head it makes for a forgiving shot yet somewhat workable.
My choice would have to be the Tour Authentic because it has a smaller size and bigger in the case of drivers is not better in my view.

Haha, not really. I won`t play a Callaway club until they change their ugly hosel
