It is mediocre, nothing special. I have played there quite a bit and it can be in pretty rough shape. I know Foothills, which is right next door, is really bad right now. Club West absolutely has the most worthless range I have ever seen.

What is going on with Foothills? Greens? Fairways? All of it? I played there in January and it was in decent shape.

club west is in danger of closing its doors for the summer and becoming a Winter Only course. The water fees are just too high and its not getting enough play to keep it open. They are trying to sell the course, but the price is too steep to attract any serious buyers.

Foothills was meh the last time I played there a month or so ago, but I hate that course anyways hahah

Well a bit of a late reply, had a great time out there.

Course was almost wide almost so we took our time but still played in just over 3 hours. Is a pretty cool course, and was actually in pretty dang good shape considering it's summer here now and the rates and all.

This just in:
Ahwatukee Golf Properties will be buying Club West and more than likely shutting it down during the summer when water consumption is at its peak.
Ive heard they are looking at picking up the foothills as well. They had an offer to get Southern Dunes for CHEAP but the course has high montly maintainence and its a pretty tough course that most of the Ahwatukee memebers would never play.

Club West is a solid layout IMO

Let me know if you are planning on playing out there one of these weekends Mark.

I've been wanting to play Southern Dunes again for a while.

Ahwatukee golf properties takes over ownership on Wed, Dec 30th. I'll let you know the price structure for guests as soon as I find out.

Ive played out there 3 times since the takeover and its a really fun course. Guest rates are $32 weekdays, not sure about the weekends. Carts still have GPS though, and I really enjoy the layout except for 18. It seems like such a lackluster hole after playing 2 really solid par 3's and good uphill par 5.

calvin, if you can take a little Vaca time, my brother will be in town form Feb 6th-13th and we're planning on going to play Southern Dunes. It'd be cool to get a full 4some together.
