My wife and I are seriously considering moving out to the Phoenix area...

We were out in the area during the FBR Open this year, and made several contacts and have handed out our resumes...

This would be a big move for us, but I think it is a necessary move for my wife due to her sinus related health issues...She needs to be in a DRY environment...

My wife is in Property Management/Commercial Real Estate/Leasing & Brokeraging, and I am a full time PGA Teaching Professional...

In regards to me finding a job, I know the Phoenix area is absolutely saturated with golf professionals, and it doesn't look like a smart move, but I'm confident things will work out!

I also know that it is a great time to buy a house in the general Phoenix area...

Anyways, any advice/insight/input from any fellow Phoenix wrxers would be much appreciated!

I wouldn't move to Phoenix, Maybe you can look into surrounding area's that are much nicer. my choices would be Presscott or Scottsdale. If you have any questions about the area feel free to PM me.

Prescott would not have the climate they were looking for and they only have four or five courses so working as a pro would be very hard, as would property management.

if you have some good contacts and get some good jobs lined up, then Arizona is not a bad place to move to. The housing is just getting back on its feet. So you need to move soon and get a place. There are a ton of courses but the summer is the off season so you may have a hard time when you get here, but if you make it thru summer then you may find some good clients.

There is a lot of dust in the air in the phoenix area. Has your wife been there for an extended time before? I know my allergies were worse when I lived there.

What leave the 'Nati? Leave all the allergies one can choose from? The below average golf course selections? The great winters?

Go before you change your minds!

If you really want the Phoenix area ,check into Gilbert. That was the only area I liked before settling on the Tucson area

My wife hasn't been there for an extended period of time, but everytime she's been there it has proven to be immediate relief...

Also, she has family who have had the same symptoms, who have moved out there for the same reason, and have no regrets...

I hate the thought of leaving such a great facility such as Meadow Links...

But if my wife were to feel even halfway better, it would be worth the move!

We will see what happens!

Get jobs and contracts first. Tough place to be a pro...Lots of club pros and great players everywhere make for a tough entry into the scene. Her relief may be short lived as well. Pollution and dust may manifest down the road as allergies and sinus infection. If you still want to make the move, I've got a great little house for sale in Scottsdale! I recently relocated after 15 years there. PM me if you need any insight.
