Phil is at least 6'7" and played at a time when technology didn't really favor the tall golfer, limiting whatever success he had. Nice guy though, for all that.

TV can alter your perception. For example, on TV Kenny Perry overall looked like kind of a big guy. To me, he looked kind of tall with a bit of a pot belly. I see him in Houston this year and the guy is really pretty small like me (5'7" 135ish).

According to Wiki, he's 6'2", 220. Having seen him, I'd say that's pretty close.

According to pgatour.com he is 6-7, 245. I remember him from back in the 1980's, when he was one of several players sponsored by Hogan. They had quite a "stable" of players back then including Lanny Wadkins.

Good question! It's possible. The only other really tall champion I can think of is the late George Archer, who won the Masters in 1969. He was in the 6-6 range, I believe. Maybe others on here can name some other tall tour event winners.

Ummm, definitely not 5'7" 135. Perry is a pretty big guy himself. The 6'2" 220 is about right!

PHIL BLACKMAR!!

12 foot man-mountain.

We once had a bachelor party for Blackmar. He ate the entire cake before we could tell him there was a stripper in it.
