Who here is a "hitter" (as opposed to a "swinger")?

I've been trying out "hitting" the ball (i.e., throwing with my right hand at the ball) instead of my usual attempt at "swinging" the club through the ball (i.e., pulling with my left hand and/or rotating my hips) and have had some pretty good results.
Can any of you veteran hitters out there give me some tips/swing thoughts for how to be most effective with this type of move? Do you use the same type of move regardless of whether you're making a full swing or a pitch?
Thanks!

Careful it may make you want to quit: watch the images a few times before listening to the words.

Like Hogan
I'm a swinger and a hitter.
I swing with the left and hit with the right.
Focus on the palmar flexion as you pivot. Let the pivot get your left arm and palmar flexed hand ahead of the ball.
Then hit.
I feel as if I capture the ball, then release the head of the club.
There is a definate exchange of finger pressure once you get into the slot, from the left hand to the right.
You feel the handle of the club against the pad of the right forefinger.
It is a throwing motion.
There must be certain amount of tension in the left arm through impact to pull this off.
Hip rotation is done and necessary for hitting, just do not rotate both hips around the spine.
Rotate the left hip around the right posted leg and hip in the backswing.
Rotate the right hip around the posted left hip and leg in the down swing.
I release, (hit with my right) for all shots.
I don't let it happen , I make it happen.

I discovered this last week when trying to fight a dipping right shoulder which prevents release causing slice city.
I fought it by trying to actively release using my right arm. I am a swinger so using an active right arm is heresy. The resulting shot was so pure that I am now reconsidering the mantra that you can either be a swinger or a hitter but not both ("switter").

Wow, that's pretty good. However, I always get in arguments regarding being a swatter (hitter & swinger). With the driver, I like to use a lot of left side pulling (because of the acending blow) When hitting wedges and punches, I like to hit with the right hand (because of the decending blow).
I don't try to crowbar myself into a swing type, I just try to make shots. But if I had to, I would say I am a hitter. I clear my hips then hit like hell with the right side (right arm thrust) for most shots, again, except woods (fairway and driver).
