I think alot would go if it was augusta national ;) LOL, I'm definitely in if its within 5-7 hour drive of chicago. Maybe somewhere in midwest due to it being the center of country - or we should have poll to see where most of us are located and then go from there. I think getting a decent/affordable course with promise of filling it, we could get a deal -golf, lodging, banquet etc. I'd be willing to help organize, but we'd need a definite number. Maybe some of the sponsers could show up and bring equiptment, demos, etc = we could turn it into a weekend - two days of golf, time for fittings, demos, drinks, dinner etc. great idea if you ask me to get alot of equiptment a try, talk golf in person, see eachother meet new friends and network.

For a spring outing, I would probably be able to travel anywhere within reason (ie not Pebble) since I've got a bachelor party credit to use up with the almost wife. I told her I'd rather have a weekend golf trip for free than fly to Vegas to get wasted. I'd vote for something I don't see every day like a desert or mountain course.

Tell me about it. I live in Flowood and can't wait for the great escape someday.

If you're interested in a fun little tournament, we've got a 3 round 2 man shamble, scramble, shamble at Dancing Rabbit including 2 nights in a hotel and an open bar party for $250 a man at the end of May. It's mainly comprised of guys that play out at Baypointe.

I'm about 50 miles southwest from Chicago in town called Yorkville - bigger towns around are Aurora and Naperville - - So, my 5-7 hour driving radius makes the choices pretty big - maybe somewhere in Southern Illinois or Missouri - - which would be nicer this time of year. Plus the courses are decent with good prices, I went to college in Carbondale Ill at SIUC and know of a decent layout down there for about 30/person 18 with cart - - its called Stone Creek CC, I think they were building lodging on site - I'm just thinking if we get enough people, we could get a rate.

Meant to ad: Don't know how many are in the south (GA area), but Callaway Gardens (previously home to the PGA Tour's Buick Challenge) has an unlimited golf and night's stay in their cottages deal for less than $100 a head...

HAHA! I would definitely be in....if it's close enough.

I could see it now....Vanity bags, Vanity bags, Vanity bags....I'd still bring my dorky iron headcovers and my sunmountain stand bag.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some great golfers with their good ole stand bags and ping eye 2's hitting pars/birdies all day. But I also wouldn't mind crackin open a drink or two with some of those nice baggers and talk golf equip.

Oh...and I'll be bringing my vanity bag as well ;)

If the dates fit, I'll be there. For the Midwestern guys, there is a Best Western in Kendalville, Indiana{close to Auburn} doing packages with 6 courses nearby. They were distributing brochures at the Grand Rapids Golf Show, the rates seemed reasonable and the courses looked good. Noble Hawk and Cobblestone were a couple I can remember.

I am in Oklahoma. I know this may sound weird at first but I say Branson Missouri. They have a course currently in the golf digest top 100 public courses and a John Daly course, not to mention tons of lodging and things to do at night. And if the family insist on coming you can send them to a show or shopping while you do your thing at the course. Also prices are usually very reasonable.

P.S. It is not all country shows either.

Columbus is a great central location. :D

But seriously, we have two major highways that run through and some of the best golf courses in the country.

Public wise, Longaberger does outings and they are a top 100 pubic with a very reasonable rate. All the Cameron fanatics use this course for their other outing during the Cameron Convention.

What about having a national Golf WRX weekend at multiple locations. I'm in St. Paul, MN and would be interested in organizing an event locally. What if we could get people from different areas around the country to organize a local event all on the same weekend. I think it would be great to have one convention, but the travel cost and time might make it difficult for some people.
