Named by Golf World, Golf Digest and Golf Range magazines as the best golf promotion in the entire country, The 34th Annual Haggin Oaks Golf Expo in Sacramento, CA is taking another giant step forward at this year's event by doubling the amount of complimentary hitting stalls available to the public, adding a new area hosting dozens of golf courses from around Northern California and beyond and offering a new promotion that pays you in store credit the more you spend. With over 150 different manufacturers and booths scheduled to appear, The Haggin Oaks Golf Expo is truly the show of all shows- hosting over 17,000 golfers over the three day event. Golfers from all over California, Oregon and Nevada descend on this award-winning facility to see all the latest from around the golf industry- from the latest in golf equipment to the best vacation destinations- and everything in between! Best of all, admission is FREE!

The Haggin Oaks Golf Expo is the ONLY event that works directly with Reed Exhibitions, the company that puts on the PGA Merchandise Show, golf's largest industry-only show. In a strategic partnership unique only to this event, dozens of new up-and-coming vendors are brought in for the general public to see and try. Many of these boutique brands show nowhere else in the country- using this event as their exclusive testing ground for new products with the general public. Reed Exhibitions is adding even more new vendors in 2009 to go along with more new products to see than ever before. Nowhere else in the country will there be a larger collection of golf vendors available to the general public.

This exclusive event will host five distinct areas for the general golfer to discover:

FRONT 9- Across the front hitting stalls of the driving range will be our Front 9, with major equipment vendors such as Callaway, Ping, Cleveland, Titleist, TaylorMade, Nike and Cobra along with many others. Several manufacturer representatives will be on-hand at each booth and golfers will have all of their questions answered by vendor experts. All of the latest 2009 equipment will be available in every imaginable specification for trial. Lefties, seniors, ladies- this is your opportunity to try a selection seen nowhere else in the country.

BACK 9- (New!) Continuous shuttles will transport show visitors to the back of the driving range where we'll host our Back 9- a collection of both more exotic golf equipment brands as well as a collection of Vendor Tour Fitting Vans normally only reserved by PGA Tour events. These mobile fitting vans on wheels come complete with the latest in fitting equipment technology and many build clubs for the consumer right there on the spot. With vendors like Nike, Callaway and Ping already committed, this is just one more reason that makes this event unique.

VENDOR VILLAGE- This area located around the huge driving range practice green hosts all of our Golf Expo golf lifestyle vendors. Health and fitness companies, golf travel agencies, training aid vendors, golf accessory lines, golf media publications, golf clubs & associations and more all have booths promoting everything important to the golfer. This will also be the area in which Haggin Oaks will have the Short Game Center where many different putter and wedge companies like Odyssey and Titleist by Scotty Cameron will be stationed bordering the huge practice putting green demoing all the latest in putters and wedges.

GOLF COURSE ALLEY- (New!) Promoting the game of golf is good. Promoting the good of golf is better. That's why Haggin Oaks has created a large areas surrounding the two practice greens by the MacKenzie clubhouse called Golf Course Alley. Dozens of golf courses from around Northern California and beyond will be set-up with course information, literature and in many cases- membership and green fee specials. It's just one more innovation of this golf show aimed at making it more valuable for the golfer.

PGA TRADE-IN NETWORK USED CLUB CENTER- (New!) Haggin Oaks will be bringing their inventory of thousands of used clubs- normally destined for eBay- and setting up a mini show-within-a-show of previously-used equipment for sale. Golfers will not only be able to turn their closets and garages into dollars good for all of the hottest golf gadgets and gizmos through trade-ins, but turn around and fill them back up with incredible deals on equipment from past seasons. There will be many amazing opportunities in this area. As a founding member of the PGA Trade-In Network, Haggin Oaks will have trade-in specialists on-hand giving maximum dollars for thousands of different clubs, staff bags, pull carts and old training aids. Gift certificates will be issued right on the spot. Look for the yellow and black trade-in tent on the range.

But free trial and selection aren't the only reason to attend this incredible event. Haggin Oaks Golf Expo will be offering a new discount program that will allow savings on nearly EVERY SINGLE ITEM being sold at the event. Deals will be much more expansive and deep than in any past year. The more you spend, the more you save. It's just one more way Haggin Oaks is trying to make this event of more value to the golfing public.

For golfers that want to get a list of all the participating vendors and a vendor map, it can be found on the event-specific website at www.hagginoaksgolfexpo.com.

Went today and going again tomorrow. I ended up cutting the day short today to actually go play but will finish up checking out all the booths tomorrow. I hope they have plenty of security watching all the cars as my car got broken into their a couple weeks ago right in front of the pro shop. Kind of a ghetto area right over the highway from Haggin so be cautious where you park your car.

Went out today and was shocked to see the volume of equipment and number of people out there. One downer was that many of the reps seemed to really be put off by the guests questions and interest in their equipment. Perhaps it was a result of them having been out there for three days, but it would seem that in today's economy reps would try to do all they could to attract customers...

I went out there today. Nice variety of vendors! Tons of equipment to try out. I would say the Callaway booth pretty much had the biggest crowd the whole time I was there.

I agree on a previous comment about some of the vendors not beeing to helpful. I went to the Cleveland booth to ask about Srixon balls. As soon as the rep heard that I wanted to talk about Srixon balls he kind of tried to push me away as fast as he could. I was hoping to get a two ball sampler but had no luck. The two balls he recommended to me (Tri Speed and Soft Feel), sleeves were sitting right behind him but I guess either they weren't handing them out or you had to demo their clubs.

That is another thing I was dissapointed in was the ability to try or sample balls. I didn't see many sample packs available, and when there was you had to either try on shoes (Nike) or wait in a slow line for a ball fitting (Bridgestone). I didn't see any other ball sample packs from the other vendors (Callaway, Titliest, Wilson).

Golf Pride was handing out grips, which was pretty cool. Another favorite part was watching Ryan Winthers (long drive guy) smash balls. His swing speed was unreal. I think there was another LDA guy out ther with him (big guy with blonde dread locks) but I only saw him hit one or two balls.

All in all it was a good time. Now I am just hoping I win some of those free rounds or clubs. :)

I personally quit going every year for this very reason you mention in your reply. But, I felt compelled to go today for about an hour or so then left after I stood in front of the TM booth and was ignored as 7 people dropped by after me and got addressed by the TM personnel. I finally got the attention of someone but they were unable to answer what I felt should've been an expected question from customers, etc.

This isn't the first time this has happened which is why I essentially quit attending the event. IMO, I get far better service going to the shop on a normal business day where the service from the golf shop personnel is usually very good.

In all fairness to the reps, it's a maddening scene especially now that these club manufacturers have the ability to change out shafts, etc. Just in the short time I was there many many "good talkers" would check out all these clubs and ask to have all these various shafts inserted into the clubheads, etc. I doubt very much one shaft from the next made any difference. "Good talkers", but bad "Pilots" if you know what I mean.... So I guess I could see the numbness from the side of the product reps.

I will say the folks at the Winn booth were very informative and answered my questions with confidence so I didn't leave with doubts about thier knowledge of their product.

Seems like your sole intention was to get free stuff. The real intention is for the manufacturer to demo equipment to sincere buyers, not just give handouts.

I had tried a bunch of clubs I was thinking about buying like the ft9 and the r9 but hit them and didn't like them and I tried different lofts and shafts but nothing wow'd me at all.The Adams reps that were there were more into selling womens clubs than answer some questions on some gear I have or am about to buy. It was nice seeing the Scratch booth but they didnt have much gear there but I did see Ari's personal putter which was so good looking it was a bronze looking putter made by David Mills. Got to meet Patrick and Sam from Scratch to and got some news on the putters that I pre ordered a while back. But a great event and fun. Its kinda sad when I walk by all the booths and there wasn't to much I didnt have or had.

I am actually trying to find a ball right now. I can't seem to find one that I like. So I was hoping to try out a couple of different balls. If they would have had samplers for sale, I would have purchased them. But they just weren't available.

And if I wanted stuff for free, I would have swooped up all the other swag that was beeing given out. I came back with one grip, and a free magazine that was handed to me. That's it. I saw people grabbing 8 or 9 grips from the Golf Pride table. Those were the people taking advantage of the free stuff.

I didn't even consider grabbing up a bunch of "free stuff" and I'm pretty sure most if not all was gone by Sunday anyway. I would've grabbed the Natalie poster tho. :D

If you're serious about purchasing new golf clubs you can always go to Haggin on any other day and try it all! They let you take out 3 clubs at a time with free balls to boot. You can see if you like the look and feel of every iron in a particular set of irons if you like to be that thorough.

Then you can pay a fee to get properly fitted with a variety of fitting services from basic to high tech. All in all, in a much less hectic atmoshpere at your leisure.

I was there on Friday and skipped all the major OEMs. Spent most of the time chatting with Patrick from Scratch. The new 1018 and 8620 lines look great. Patrick also had the original TP Mills Fleetwood in his bag.

I also got a fitting from Kevin Burns on his new virtual putter fitting machine. I don't know about the reality of the measurements? I came away with needing a 77* lie angle?!?! I found the ball looked a little big on the screen because of the 2D aspect that flattens the shape and not having the static weight of a putter was very "blind" feeling. I like the Ping adjustable putter for fitting better. KB's putters had great mill lines with retail styled aesthetics.

I also spent some time with the OnPar rep. The Onpar can definitely give the Upro a good run, but IMO I like the Upro's satellite pics over drawings. The drawings for the holes on the OnPar are very well done, but I didn't like that they only show the fairway and some of the rough. Also It seemed the rep was getting a ton of frowns from the crowd for the limited number of courses available. For example there are about 76-78 courses in the Sacramento area, but the OnPar only has about 20 and they only develop 1,000 new courses nationally per month. The size was nice but not small enough to simply store it in your pocket. It's profile was definitely much thicker and wider than an iPhone. why? And while the screen HUGE compared to everything out it's definitely not brighter in sunlight than the Upro. Overall it's a worthy product and worth looking into.

+1 on Kepler's... Very knowledgeable and professional folks to talked to, I'm planning on getting my clubs fitting done at Kepler's soon. The coupons they were giving out at their booth was a treat as well :partytime2:

I went to the Demo day on Friday (prior to playing a round with raidernut and icemaker). I also went back Saturday to check out some of the sticks I didn't have an opportunity to hit. I'll only give impressions of clubs I actually hit:

Adams: The new black blade is a gorgeous club. The rep had a 7 iron in hiding shafted up with a KB tour smoke and it is a sick looking combo. Much easier to hit than it looked. I hit it higher than any 7 iron I've ever put in my hands and am wondering if this is due to the KB shaft as it was my first go round with one.
The Speedline driver worked very well for me (10.5 with the stock stiff). If I was able to actually purchase a driver right now it would be very hard to pass up. A very solid feel and the extra length (I play my drivers at 44.75) didn't seem to be much of a bother. Didn't hit the A4 tech as I've hit it before and its just too low spin/launching/open faced for me.

Taylor Made - The 09 Burner irons are very easy to hit. Even with the 85 gram stock shafts they still felt heavy enough most likely due to the extra length. It felt weird standing so far away from the ball and I believe I'd have to get them in a much flatter lie because of this. I only hit the 5 iron but it was incredibly easy to hit although knockdown shots were a bit difficult due to the design. They just want to get up quick and go. The R9 just didn't work for me possibly due to the stock Motore. It is one stiff mutha....MY driver ss is around 104-106 and I had a hard time loading the shaft. Icemaker had his R9 on the course (shafted with a Voodoo) and it was much friendlier. Distance gains were non-existent but its a straight hitting beast..

Cobra. Hit both the Speed Pro S and D.....Due to my lower launch the S defintely worked better for me. I would also love to hit with an X-Con 5 rather than the stock X-Con 6 as I could use a bit more launch. It is without a doubt the most muted feeling/sounding driver I've ever hit. The TM 510 TP is noisy by comparision. The closest to persimmon I've felt since...well persimmon....

Tour Edge Exotics - The XCG-V driver did nothing for me. I've had an XCG and it was a low launching/spinning fade biased beast. The XCG-V was more of the same but actually felt tinnier than the XCG. The XCG-V fw's don't seem like much of an improvement over the XCG. They looked noticeably larger at address and that was a turnoff to me. The exotics line seems to be tailored to the "playa" market and I just don't see many low handi's looking for ginormous headed fw's.

On the putter front I was impressed with the Rife Abaco and the TEE Glod proto. I could easily put either one in my bag.

In closing I will now don my flame retardant suit and sing the praises of ....(insert drum roll here)...

The Powerbilt Air Force One....That's right I said it....Raidernut actually put it on the monitor against a Tour Burner TP/X-Con combo and was so impressed he took it out to demo it during our round on the Mackenzie Course. I was definitely a skeptic until I saw him piping drive after drive. It was as long or longer than anything any of us were playing and really shined on misses. I honestly believe they are on to something here. I was so impressed that I went back to the demo days the next day just to hit it on the monitor. Bottom line, you must hit this club before forming an opinion. Forget the infomercial and find a demo day where this club is available. It will shock many of you. I do believe if they dropped the price to $299 rather than its current $399 they would fly out the door. I think it would be a great marketing ploy to get the club in more players hands because I'm convinced that many will not pull the trigger due to the price and the subsequent lack of re-sale value....Hopefully Raidernut and Icemaker will chime in with their thoughts as well. Flame ON.........

Heres a good one.

Guy in the Callaway tent lost my drivers license. I checked out the FT-9 with the Fubuki 63-X, came back about 10 minutes later and VIOLA, "sorry i don't know where it could have gone or what happened to it." My guess was that he gave it away to someone else by accident.

His attitude was like the dude didn't care, and now im out a license, lucky me. The manager rep guy said he'd give me a call and let me know if he found it and would shoot me out a buncha "bullets" either way. Guess what, no call, and i wont hold my breath on the balls. Sounds like time to give ol Callaway a call and raise some hell.

For what its worth, that FT9 and fubuki combo is a nasty club, launches significantly lower than my FT5 and BB combo. Also tried the Adams speedline out and was very unimpressed, plus their shaft they called an X was like an aldente spaghetti noodle.

The new wilson blade is the best "players" club ive come across yet, the face is prolly a good 25% smaller than my bstones and were as pure as butter. Nike VR wedges were another club that impressed me, much nicer than the CG12s i tried out and consistently chewed up the range balls to the point where i had to keep takin all the plastic out of the grooves.

Nike VR blades were a tad disappointing, didnt feel as solid as I had hoped and seemed to be hitting the ball a few yards shorter, maybe it was due to the shaft being an s300, i dont know.
