I recently just made the move from Columbus to Cincinnati for work and need to find out where the good courses are? It doesn't have to just be only about the nicest courses but maybe some decent courses with good prices as well. Also if there are any good scrambles anyone knows of that would be great too!

For a great bang for the buck, I can recommend the 36-hole Weatherwax facility in Middletown (35 mi N of Cincinnati). It made the 2009 Golfweek "Best Courses You Can Play" in Ohio list.

I just moved from Cinncinnati after growing up there.

What part of town are you living in?

+1 on Weatherwax - greatest tracks for the money

Welcome to Cincinnati...

There are so many to play at a reasonable price!

The Hamilton County Park District has 7 courses...

The best four being...

- The Vineyard
- Sharon Woods
- Miami Whitewater
- The Mill Course

Then there are...

- Little Miami 9 hole par 3 course & 9 hole regulation course / practice facility.
- Meadow Links & Golf Academy / Practice Facility / 9 hole executive course.
- Shawnee Lookout / 18 hole regulation.

If you like to practice, go to Meadow Links!

You can purchase at "Play the Loop" card for $99.00, which gets you one round at each facility!

Glenview is a City of Cincinnati course located in the Springdale / Forest Park area. 27 holes. Used to be a top tier course, but management problems led to its decline. It has made a resurgance in the past few years and is still a great layout.

Beckett Ridge in West Chester is a semi-private that has allowed public green fees the past two years. Great twilight and afternoon rates, but it plays slow, especially on the weekends.

The best deal I found were on the courses owned by the Shaker Group (Shaker Run, Crooked Tree, Walden Ponds). They have an e-mail program that sends out some pretty sweet deals one to two times per week.

Pleasent Hills is a well maintained low-brow course in Monroe / Liberty Twp that is one of my favorites. Easy to walk, and suprisingly tricky.

The Nicklaus course at Kings Island is an good course, used to hold a senior tour event. It can be expensive, but is an excellent test of skill from the tips.

I would avoid the following due to poor service and / or marginal layouts - Green Crest, Vista Verde, Western Row (now closed), Kingswood, Avon-Fields, Reeves, Dunham and California. -

Meadow Links is by far the best practice facility in the area. Top notch!

I cant speak about the service, but Avon Fields is such a fun & old design in Cincinnati. I always encourage people to play it for the fun of it!

During the week, pay a little more, and enjoy a day out at Stonelick Hills! Simply an incredible public facility!

Hey everyone, Here's a link that shows tournaments & outings in the area. It's constantly updated so save the link to your favs and check it out from time to time. P.S. I'm always game to get in a scramble. Sugar Ridge has 2&4 man scrambles from time to time on Wednesdays and I can never find anyone who is available during the week so if anyone is interested send me a PM or post here when the time comes.....but I digress...

Send me a PM and if you like you are more than welcome to golf w/me and my friends...

Cincinnati has a lot of decently priced golf, but there are really not any AWESOME public courses....

I have played EVERY SINGLE course here (with the exception of KWCC and WHCC)....

Western Hills CC? I used to caddy there and would play free on Mondays.
