I know Tiger plays traditional lofts. The loft for the factory VR blade pitching wedge is 47, which is probably not what Tiger's is. His old PW blade was 49 stock loft. His SW is 56 and then a 60 wedge. My questions are this:

1) Does anyone know 100% what his iron lofts are? They definately are not stock VR lofts.

2) What's the bounce and grind's on his wedge's?

If he has a 4 degree gap between his lob and sand wedge, then his pitching wedge must be 50-52 degrees of loft right? This would make his club loft's one whole club weaker than most other players lofts and he still hits it atleast a club farther! IF that's the case then that's awesome.

Its fairly well known that his iron lofts have been weak when he was playing 2-PW I know it started at 21 and ended with 49.  If I remember correctly back in his am days he used two Vokeys 58 and 60.  The 58 was bent to 56 so both had 6 degrees of bounce.

Anybody have an answer to the second part of the question? I have been curious about this for awhile as well.

It's interesting that his wedges only have 6 degrees of bounce considering he has a steeper swing than most on tour with his more upright posture.

I remember a couple years ago that he was the player for Golf Digest's WITB in their magazine. He gave his distances but not his lofts like most people do next to them on that chart. I remember seeing pictures of his wedges and the SW looked like there was no significant grind on it but the LW looked to have heel and trailing edge relief. I know Tiger opens his clubface on about every shot around the green, so this grind would leave the leading edge of the club close to the ground.

Do his wedges still have 6* of bounce? I know that they did in the am days but is that still the case?

The bounce is probably a non-factor since I'm sure the grind on it isn't just a normal stock grind.  It would be very interesting if he would ever tell us exactly what he plays.

Is it really that important to know what his lofts are? Is it going to help your game?

It's far more important than you getting involved for no reason. Let people discuss what they want to discuss and if you've got nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.

Or is it going to help your game?

i guarantee he does not have 12 degrees of bounce on his SW, if i had to guess it would be no more then 9 on the sw and around 4 on the lob. as far as irons id say he goes with a 49 or 50 degree PW and goes from there.

He used to play a Vokey 58-08 bent to 56* so his bounce angle would have been 6* on his SW.  His lob wedge was a 60-06, unbent .  This was when he was with Titleist so as for now...not certain. With his penchant for using the same lofts on his clubs since the 1990's, I would assume that they are the same now.

I said nothing about trying to improve my game. It was just something I was wondering about and thought it would be interesting to know. That's all.

That was my thought as well.  Tiger's first Titleist wedges weren't even Vokey's I don't think, they were Bobka prototypes.  :)  I don't think Vokey's starting showing up til around 98 or so.  But I could be way off on that, it's just how I remember it.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
