so i was talking to my mother on the phone and telling her my plans for golf this year and my 96 year old grandma was there with her. i told her i was planning to travel and play this year and i also told her about the struggle it has been for me to find anyone willing to put my name on the bag i currently have. so my grandma was in the background saying "what did he say?" to everything. i got off the phone with her and she called me back 10 minutes later and said "your grandma wants to get you something". and here it is..........

Attached Image

she ordered with my name on it. she told them to put "mutt" on it since that was her nickname for me but my mom told her to stop it. best looking bag out there i think. and that ladies and gentleman is why grandmas kick major a**.

you let your 96 yr old grandma buy you a staff bag? i thought this story was going to end with "my grandma was a professional embroidery lady person back in the day and she's going to customize my bag"

Thank you note??

A note's not going to do....that's either an in person thank you, or a phone call if you are too far to thank her in person!

i play mostly at thorn apple. i do get over to the phoenix even though people dont like that course i do. and my all time favorite course in or around columbus is national golf links in south charleston. any and every type of shot you need to hit, that course has.

I grew up right next to National Golf Links. I also played my High School matches their. Good course.

Thorn Apple? Is it just becuase your close? I use to live over off Hilliard Rome and i played their a couple times and hated it. I much rather play the Phoenix. It just seemed like the course upkeep is severly lacking. When i played their i couldn't tell the difference from fairway or rough and the greens wouldn't hold a shot droped from a helicopter.

I bet being a +2 that you can easily shot 65 there, huh?

You need to get down to Cooks Creek, Foxfire Players Club, or up north to Glenross, Golf Club of Dublin, Northstar, Bent Tree. Also check out Darby Creek out west by Marysville. All are 4 star course that are always in superb shape.

If your ever interested im a member at OSU Scarlet. If you wanted to truly test your game let me know and we can get out their oone day. :good:

yes i do play at thorn apple because i am close and the head pro is a really nice guy. he is also the only one who carries wilson staff. his prices are the best i have found as well. i do like cooks creek and foxfire. i will be playing the dublin course here soon(never played there). i used to play bent tree all the time when i lived in westerville. i really liked it. and any time i am ready to play the scarlet course. i have only played the gray. the only reason i play to a +2 is when my irons are on i hit it really close and usually shoot around par wherever i go. my putting is atrocious so i have been working all winter on that. i cant wait to test it out.
