Can someone give a detailed break down of how the FCT works? It looks like maybe you have the following settings in the following order?

L
-
NU
-
N
-
R
-

If that's correct, can you give a breakdown of what settings have what face angles and lies?  For example:

L (2 degrees closed face, upright lie) ?

Can someone explain to me actually how it works?  Thanks.

Can I make it any lie and any face angle I want?  Or am I restricted to those mentioned above?  Like what if I want 2 degrees open and 2 degrees flat?

There are only the 8 settings on the R9's standard sleeve. I'm not sure if TM has any "Tour Only" sleeves that might allow different settings. I'd imagine they do, but haven't heard of them yet. So no, if you wanted 2 open and 2 flat I think you'd have to hit up a Tour Van or similar.

And may I add, it works.  I went to the range today and hit crummy range balls with all the different settings.  I started with neutral, I get a gentle draw.  Going neutral more upright or more flat, I got gentle fades or a little more draw.  Then I tried the extremes, set it at right (2 open) and the ball faded a good 15 yards, set it at left (2 closed and the driver did not look horribly closed at address) and the ball would draw a good 15 yards.  Then for fun I replaced the 1g weight at the heel with a 4g weight and the 15 yard draw became a good 25 yard draw.

The technology is crazy, but I just don't know when I would really use it in between rounds.  Maybe if I am going to play a course with a lot of dogleg rights I would reset from neutral to the gentle fade.

TM's come a long way, I thought the original MWT from years ago wasn't that great.

Correct.  You can't adjust weights or face angles during a round if you're in a tournament or posting the round for handicap purposes.

Quick question, the chart you posted shows that the N setup results in a -2.  TM's FCT chart shows the N resulting in a very very slight L to R ballflight which i assume is because it is flat.  Why is this?

I was told that closing the face would de-loft the club?  It seems that it would close due to the face angle closing downward?  Please let me know what you think?   Also are people seeing that they are hitting the ball lower then there normal ball flight?

Closing the face 2 degrees actually adds 2 degrees of loft and the same for 2 degrees open delofts the club 2 degrees.  I know it sounds wierd, but if you think about it... You start at address with 2 degrees closed.... At impact when the face is square, the actual loft will be 2 degrees more.  I am demoing a R9 9.5 and I LOVE IT.  The spin rates are so low with this head its unbelievable! I currently play a Titleist 909 D3 with a Rombax 7x08 X flex.  My swing speed is 108, the titleist head spins about 3000 rpm's.  The R9 with stock motore "s" flex 65 gram on the launch monitor 2 degrees closed standard weighting was OFF the chart.  Swing speed 108 avg. launch angle 14.5 degrees with 1300 rpm's.  I had to hit some drives on the course to compare the R9 with the titleist 909 D3.... and no comparison the R9 flew the 909 by 25 yards!  I would like to see what the TP shafts do to these numbers... Has anybody compared the R9 to the R9 TP?

Hi, first time poster, so I just got an R9 was wondering, will I get more draw bias by moving the heavy weight to the heel on a NU setting, or by keeping the weights neutral and switching the shaft to NU/L? Thanks for the help.

I must be missing something here.  How do I equate the 8 positions above to the 8 positions on the hosel.  I understand R, N, NU and L, but what about the positions between those.  These 8 listed above do not line up in the same order as the hosel.

I'm sure I'm missing something simple.  Can someone help?
