I just got a shaft pull that I am prepping and as the last step drilled out the tip. When doing so, once I broke through the epoxy I still could not see through the shaft. Using an unbent paperclip I pushed through a clump of small graphite fibers (about the size of 1/8 of a cotton ball). I'm pretty sure I drilled straight being careful not to touch the graphite. Is this common to have a clump of fibers in the shaft. For what it's worth, it is a creation pull.
Thanks.
Ryan

It could be from the butt end when they trimmed it. As long as the "structural integrity" of the shaft is in tact...you should be just fine.
