I wanted to start a fan club thread for Vicki Hurst. She is a member of my home course in Melbourne, Florida and is one of the nicest girls I have ever met.

In 2008 she was #1 on the money list out of the Futures Tour, securing her LPGA card. Since she is a rookie, there are no stats on the LPGA site yet, but I will be posting her accomplishments here. She is known for her Kangol hats, which I think will have the Callaway logo now since she signed a contract with them.

I will post her picture here too at a later date.

I got home in time to see a few minutes of LPGA tourney today and I got to see Vicki hit a few shots. Way to go, Vicki!

Vicki tied for 5th going into the 3rd round of Turtle Bay. Wow. I knew she was going to have a good season, but this is awesome so far!

Is a big fan of the late Payne Stewart - give her props for that. I hope she does a whole Payne Stewart outfit some time.... Hope she does well. The LPGA needs some new fightin' rookies to bring some life to the tour!

She'll be one of the LPGA's all-time best before it's all said and done. She has the talent to threaten ALL of the records.

Sign me up for the Vicky Hurst Club. Not many of the other ladies at the SBS got much TV time. I was sick of only seeing MWie and the broadcasters seeming to only talk about MW.

I guess Vicky Hurst needs to get into the final grouping to get more tv time.

OMG, Vicky Hurst is in last place at HSBC.

I hope this does't kill her confidence too much.

I hope she plays well tomorrow. I like her best out of all the tour rookies this year... Nice combo of skills, talent, style, attitude, and looks. :D

Not just last place, but shot 7-over in R1, and 12-over in R2. 19-over!

Yikes! I never saw that coming.

But today in R3:

She's even through 10 with 2 birdies and 2 bogies.

What course do you play out of in Melbourne? I play in that area a lot and am always looking for a nice course.

I am a member at Suntree. We have 2 courses, and a nice practice facility.

Last weekend we saw Vicki practicing putting. She was with her mom and sister. I took a pic of her and my girls, and she signed a ball for each of them. She is now signed with Under Armour for apparel. Her mom said they were a good company to deal with. She also had a really pretty putter, with a dark finish. It has what I would call a Zing style head, but I am not sure what Callaway calls it. I did not want to seem too crazy, so I did not take a picture of it. lol As always, it was a pleasure to talk with her for a few minutes.

Thank you! One thing I did well was make some cute kids. ;)

They are good girls, and playing some golf. We take them with us (my husband and I) when we play, but do not force anything on them. The hit at the range and some shots on the course when they feel like it.

I do not know what the procedure or qualifications for that is... I will have to look it up. It would be awesome if she gets to play there this year!!

She finished T22nd at the Mastercard. Good job, Vicki!

Hi Koko, I recently moved from Brevard over to Citrus county (job thing lol). I followed Vicky through her prep days and on the Duramed tour last year...What a talent!! I noticed you haven't posted in awhile...Hope all is well! I know she didn't qualify for the Open, but I don't think she played last week either. Any info?? Thanks in advance from a big fan of this special young lady.

Hi! I have not been around the WRX for a while! Before the British, she went to Indiana to spend some time playing golf with her new caddie. I guess the practice payed off, since she did quite well.

No, she did not qualify for the US open, but the qualifying was on Monday after a tournament and a lot of the players had trouble with traveling Sunday (after playing a tournament) and then playing 36 on Monday. Not a very fair qualifier for the LPGA players who played the previous weekend, IMO.

Where do you play golf over here?

Vicky is the next BIG THINGY and a wonderful story, to boot.

Born on the golf course, normal parents (father passed), and great appreciation for the golf heritage.

IMO, a "no baggage" young start that LPGA fans should take notice of and appreicate.

I played through her on a course in Central Indiana. We chatted for a few minutes, her attitude was nice, her game was GREAT. Just watching from a distance, she looked to have a great smooth swing. Should be interesting to see how she does.

very pretty young lady. Talked to her a few minutes, she was nice,
her putter is an Odyssey Black series #6. Says she likes the course,
so I hope she will do well. Sign me up for the fan club.

Half Korean! Even the American girls have the Asian connection...perhaps that's the secret!

I've always liked her... and from the comments on the board she seems to be a top-notch person too.

I have been away from WRX for a while, but I am back (I always come back lol).

I saw Vicky yesterday. She was at our home course practicing with a friend. We spoke for a few minutes. She is planning on playing in Korea and Japan in a few weeks.
