Who hired this hack and will not fire her .... it's pathetic

I watched four hours of golf in 2 just from fast forwarding through ALL the commercials. Let's see some more golf!

By the way, very little of what an announcer says over the air is ad libbed by the announcer- Most of it is scripted, at least in content and frequency.
I watched a full day of golf in January, broken only by one football game, and thoroughly enjoyed it- especially in High Def. The video from Hawaii was spectacular.

As for the coverage...they tend to favor the players most people want to see and neglect the players that some of us enjoy watching. I can't complain though, I love The Golf Channel. I love golf. I could easily love Kelly Tilghman too.

"Florida's Friendliest Hometown" also has the highest rate of STD cases per capita in the state. Must be a lot of golf widows with time on their hands and golf widowers with prescriptions for ED meds. VERY friendly.

I remember during a tournament last year, Kevin Stadler shot a 61, had two or three chances to get it to a 59, and they didn't show a lick of him on TV. Come on... If someone's going low, show it.

Stage...you just can't get away with a comment like that w/o some "woman" stepping in and stepping down on you!
I'd take Kelly over Rich "I wanna be Howard Cosell" Lerner in a nanosecond!
But...that's just one "woman's" point of view.

I'm a fan of Kelly- remember when she got spanked for the "lynch Tiger" comment? They'd never do that to Faldo.
Hear hear ghoramas! Thanks for that. I thought I was alone! I thought DL was really impressive for an old fart (like me???)

Hairpiece? More like Mouthpiece. Sorry...I am so sick of that guy I want to give up watching GC. Kelly is there to pump up others - RL is there to pump up himself. He thinks he's the star and he's waaaay too cute with the players. Did you see him interview Adam Scott about Ogilvy? That was just sad...
Okay okay...I'll stop now - no more from me about RL. But man!

Sorry but after 4 rounds of that I had to get it out.
I thought it was cool giving AK plenty of air time. He is a talent that doesn't walk around like the rest of the stiffs on tour.

OK, so let's shut down the Golf Channel so we can put you all out of your misery. Some complain about the commentators, some complain about the off-season programming (in another thread), some complain about the general coverage and how much air time each golfer gets (still another thread)- they must sit there with a stop watch and graph paper keeping track of it all.
Complain, complain, complain. If we were to stick ANY of you in front of the camera and watch you, it would be a pathetic train wreck. In fact, let's get a group of people together and come watch you on your job, and critique EVERY little thing you do... I bet we'd find a few things you'd love your boss not to know.
So, we'll shut it down... that way, you can enjoy the network (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX) coverage that is on 24x7... oh, wait... ummm, uhhhh... THERE IS NONE!
I'm not saying just because they're on 24x7 it entitles them to be bad, but they are just not as bad as some people on here are making them out to be. You've got a 24x7 golf channel folks. Tennis, bowling, billiards, etc. can't say that. Be at least somewhat thankful for that.
I was home sick this past weekend- I really enjoyed watching the Golf Channel coverage all weekend- it was great. It was a great way to stay in touch with my favorite sport and watch a nice warm place on TV.
If you can't stand it, change the channel and watch something else. That way, you'll see the same golf coverage the rest of the networks provide... nothing.

Seriously? Why would they spend time on the guys at the bottom? "And now we're showing Joe Blow on the 18th fairway, he's 10 over today and can't keep the ball in front of him..." I guess that might entertain some people, but the leaderboard is what people want to see...

Yes, I know. I should have phrased my comment a little better than that... I was responding to the comment that they showed so little of certain golfers...

Don't forget TGC is located in Florida. One pet peeve of mine is that cities outside the USA are pronounced in English by broadcasters here in South Florida (e.g., "Munich" rather than "München", "Moscow" rather than "Mockba", etc.), but Latin American cities are pronounced in the Spanish or Portuguese dialect of the home country -- e.g., "Barranquilla" with the properly rolled "r's" and the "ya" at the end of the name. If we do it for one group, we should do it for all nationalities, IMO. Not just Latinos. If we are to be respectful of language differences, that respect should carry forward to all groups. There is a significant Russian expatriate population in South Florida, and German tourism is a significant part of our local economy. Just two examples.

BINGO! Some even like to complain and whine about a touring professional's swing, as in "I hate the way Camillo recoils the club back after he swings, it's like he's showing off!" Are you kidding me? There's actually even a thread on this subject.

As long as they get rid of Lerner, I'm fine with anything.

Prozac maybe?!?!
People can think what they want to think, don't you think? As far as your example of having someone video us on our jobs.... YA CAUSE THAT'S A GREAT COMPARISON!
I think the golf channel does a great job, and i'm glad i have it. but when there is a small field and they are all 2008 winners, lets watch something else besides camillo putt 37 times.
ya, some guys aren't as fun to watch as tiger. zach johnson shot the low round of the tournament on saturday and we didn't see much of it. as a golfer, i want to see good golf.
lets compare golf coverage that's on golf channel compared to ABC, NBC, ESPN or TNT. the others are way more fun to watch, the announcers are BETTER...MUCH BETTER.
but i guess we all should never ever state our opinion about the golf channel...EVER, because if someone were to video tape our jobs we would be boring to watch...
did i get that right?

Whoa!! Between these two replies there seems to be a twisting of sorts. While there is merit to both sides..Let's not be putting words in the others mouth. We either keep this civil, AND on topic or we can Not Agree To Disagree, and then I will close it. Ok?
Debating is good, arguing isn't. What's the difference you say? One is fun to read, and the other isn't. Let's make this fun again.

I really like Kelly. I think she was a little looser on camera before she got in trouble for the lynching comment. It seems like she is being more careful when she speaks now, but maybe I am reading too much into it.
Kelly with Faldo is a good on air pairing. I look forward to seeing them.

I really don't mind the announcing much though. I don't really watch the tournaments to hear the announcers, I watch for some great golf....although cutting back on the commercials would be fantastic. Waaaayyyy too many
