My wife and I have always talked about moving to Florida. My son is a freshman at USF in Tampa so technically he's already down there...haha. My wife is a Disney freak and we go every year (sometimes 2-3 times a year) and her job just requires that she be somewhat close (30 minutes give or take) from an airport. We are targeting Orlando area for the above reasons. My dream of course is to live on or real darn close to a golfcourse.
Does anybody have some suggestions as far as good areas/neighborhoods to focus on and also any "stay the heck away" type areas. This potential move will be in the next 12 months or less possibly. Any other insights into the Orlando area is much appreciated.
Let's hear it Floridians. Thanks in advance.

I usually stay in Kissimmee when on vacation in Florida and stay in a villa just off the Osceola Parkway. I have no issues with the area and the people seem really nice. Local facilities are good. Great golf course just down the road ( Falcon's Fire) and Disney is 10 minutes away. A friend of mine got a place in St.Cloud recently, I looked him up the last time I was over and I was impressed with the area.
Buena Ventura Lakes seems popular - zip code 34743 is statistically a better area. Here's a link:

Lake Nona (former second home) is nice and is close to the airport. Isleworth is also nice but on the other side of town. Both offer great courses. Don't forgot Arnie's home course and neighborhood.
Best advice is to avoid themessage boards and work with a good Realtor. They all have extensive knowledge of the area and courses.
