I have had the opportunity to play golf with several PGA Tour players in the past. It is always fun to watch how they go about their business and how good they really are close up. Its also fun to compare your own game to theirs and see just how much your game is lacking! I mean distance wise I stay right with them but they keep it in play much better and there is no comparison inside 100 yards and they are sooooo much better around the greens. Has anyone else played with any tour players before. What did you think? How did you match up?

I've never played with a TOUR player, but I've played with several VERY VERY good amateur golfers in the local area (Dallas TX).
Like you mentioned - it's completely humbling how precise they manage their games, and how sharp they are from tee to green. Their short game skills are 100% impressive! It boggles my mind how seemingly easily they get up-and-down when they're off the green.
Goes to show the differences between us and them. Incredible.

i played w/my teaching pro once who was at one time on the australian tour before giving it up...it was pretty amazing how he could control his ballflight...i asked him what did him in and he said the mental game...he continued to say playing golf is easy when there isn't anything on the line...

I play golf with our club pro all the time. He can kick my butt all over the place in every aspect of the game except one. He can't putt to save his life. They are so much more fluid then me and there mental toughness is unbelievable. The one thing he stresses about golf is trust your swing and muscle memory.

Yeah, I've got a couple of friends on tour. i usually play with them a couple of times in Florida during the winter. It is cool to check your game against theirs. No doubt thier short game is in a different league. They can get up and down from a garbage can, they are that good.
