Great course in Gaylord Mi that I played for 50 bucks. Very difficult and scenic. These pics are par 4s from 440 to 460 yards. All doglegs.

It was! Very long with undulating greens also. No houses or freeway noise. One of my favorites.

Played it this summer and it was an absolute brute. Great, rustic layout. Bring your A game--I left mine at home and got my head handed to me. Can't wait to go back.

Forest Dunes in Roscommon MI is a great course in the area.

Thanks for the pics.

Those pics brought back some good memories. Haven't played there in years but I worked there for a couple of summers and from the back tees it is a brute. Manageable from the middle tees though, lots of width for a course through dense forest. The primary challenge is around the greens and from uneven lies on approaches.

That really does look a challenge. Wouldn't like to play that in windy conditions, especially that par 5.

I've never come close to playing to my handicap at this course. I think it might be the last course where I shot in the triple digits. It's long, tight, and you don't get a break when you get to the greens. Most are well protected, and the putting surfaces themselves are among the most undulating I've seen.

Beautiful course!

I think I would have to leave my driver at home and wear out my 17° hybrid off the tee...

Thanks for posting the great pics.

The clubhouse pic is the Black Forest clubhouse, not Black Lake, my fault.
