Hey guys, last year I spent a week in Pattaya, Thailand and it was one of the best golf holidays Ive been on. Great weather, great courses, caddies and of course the food. I am planning on going there again in the next few months and was wondering does anybody know what the situation is there i.e is it safe etc....

It's a shame one of the worlds best golf destinations is behind on politics...

Any thoughts welcomed, of course I googled and contacted the tour operator I booked with and they all say its good but you never really know do you?

Thanks

All's safe and secure, you may want to move out of BKK as quick as you can and stay "up country" until time to depart. Less crowed, able to enjoy the real thai life. I prefer Cha Am Hua Hin area / the wife has family there. Golfing not as great as the Pattitya but less crowed and a little cheaper. Sawadee ;)

its all good.. all airlines are back to full flying schedules...

its just one of those things thats common in thailand, political unrest, happens every few years, but its normally downtown bkk first time they stormed the airport

I think the worst of the political unress is over. I was there recently and it was more of an inconvenience than anything with all the road blockages. Other than that the protestors are not violent. I never once felt like my safety was in danger.

Great thanks guys for all those, am booking it now. Have about 20 different golf tour operators to choose from and am deciding between my agent here or one of the many thailand golf websites. Seems cheaper from over there but what happens if something goes wrong? Perhaps I'm panicking too much!

Thnks

Yup, safe. I'm here at home in Bangkok at the moment.
