I'm like a lot of you guys, I take my glove off when I putt and on short pitches and chips.  I'm not sure if it actually increases my "touch", but it's become a habit to take my glove off when I get to the green.

Same here, been doing it since I was a kid and chipping and putting have always been the strongest part of my game so figure why mess with it.

I take my glove off to tie shoelaces, fill up water, grab a snack, etc... but leave it on for playing.
But I'm a rubbish putter, so hey-ho.

I never used to, but started this past summer.  Mostly because I wanted to give my glove a little time to air out on hot, sweaty days.  Now I'm just used to it.

Take it off to let it air out, plus keeps you from getting a golf glove tan line.

I always take mine off to putt, unless it's a tap in. I feel that I have better feel over the putter.

Anytime I am not hitting a shot I don't have my glove on. It has just become part of my routine.

I skipped a few pages, but has anyone said the 'real' reason they take the golve off yet?  The pros do it and it looks so cool to have the fingers cascading out of your pocket.  I can putt the same with or without a glove!

I take my glove off after every single shot otherwise my hand gets clammy.  Chip and putt without a glove.

dont wear a glove anymore but when i did i always took it of for pitching chipping and putting. I think it makes a very big difference for getting the distance right for short shots.

i take the glove off in between every shot, and off to golf. I do keep it on for all shots other than putting. I do this to pace myself. It allows me to kind of slow down and take my time.

I actually take it off or leave it on depending on how the conditions of my hands are with being sticky and sweaty!

I take mine off between shots 90% of the time. Inside about 30 yard I don't put it back on.

I also remove my glove when chipping from inside 25 yards (pretty much if I missed the green in any direction)

I've started wearing a glove most of the time these last few months in an effort to lighten up my right-hand (top hand, I play lefty) grip pressure and help with some chronic "tennis elbow" pain. Normally I put it on to hit my tee shot and leave it on until I've taken my last full swing from the fairway. Then off to chip and putt. I can't stand putting it on and off more than once per hole.

But lately if it's under about 45F when I tee off I just leave it on for the entire round, putting and all. Now that I'm in my 50's the cold wind seems to make my hands as stiff and sore at 45F as it used to at 35F a decade or two ago. Go figure. It's just nice to keep at least that one hand warm and cozy in a good-fitting golf glove for the whole 3 hours. And it isn't like I have a great sense of "touch" on the putter when it's cold anyway!

Could never wear a glove.  I feel like it takes all the feel out of my shot.  Can wear two gloves in the rain or cold though but can't wear a regular glove on a regular day.

I guess I just like the added feel you get from having both hands touching the club, but I have played those shots with a glove before and there is no difference so its really just a mental thing.

+1 - this is exactly what I do and for the same reasons

I take my glove off when putting and chipping. Putting just feels awkward with the glove on. Also, I keep my ball marker in the left pocket of my trousers and it's so much easier to get it without your glove on. In the next tee box I usually take the ball out of my pocket, pick a tee, remove head cover etc. without the glove.

I guess it's grown into a habit since the days I used to have tees in my pockets (don't do that anymore as they cause holes).
