I dont wear a glove when i putt.. i like the feel of my scotty putter grip, unless its cold like in the 30s-40s and windy then i wear it to keep my hand warm

Personal preference, just like everything else.  More feel, IMHO.

I am like pretty much everyone on here, I take my glove off between shots, short pitches, anything around the green (bunker shots or chipping), and putting.  I feel like I just have more control of the club and gives me better "touch" but I also agree that it could just be a mental thing.  Whatever works, in golf as in most any other sport, you have to go with and this just happens to work for me and I feel the most comfortable doing this.

It depends on the gloves for me. If it is cold or raining and I am wearing my rain gloves, then they stay on for the round.

If it is a nice day, I will talk off the one glove around the green.

I pretty much want the same feel in both hands for putting so that either means both gloves or 0 gloves.

I take the gloves off to putt.  I think it's a feel thing for me.  The only time I leave it on is if the ball is only inches away from the hole.  Needless to say that isn't a lot of the time.

I never used to take it off to putt, but in the last two years I have done it.

i have to put my glove in my back right hand pocket when im not using it otherwise i mes up. I only use my glove on full shots.

my hands get really sweaty so i take gloves off after every shot... so after my approach, I take it off... and I just leave it off for putting.

Jack Nicklaus said he leaves the glove on because he doesn't feel like taking the glove off 18 times a round

Glove comes off when I putt and for all shots inside 60 yds

I take it off whenever I am not taking a full swing. This keeps my gloves from getting too sweaty.

I do not always wear a glove while playing but when I do I'm constantly takeing it off. I believe it is because when I first started playing I wore a glove durning a entire round only to find at the end I had one hand that looked like I had dunked it into a bucket of white paint.



Regarding feel - if it is a spanking new glove; feel is great if not then naked is best.

I don't take my glove off to putt. I used too, but then i started putting with it on and have averaged 29.7 putts per round.

i usually let how i am putting determine whether i keep it on or take it off. it probably means nothing and maybe i am out of my skull, but if i make some putts with it on, i will leave it on till i miss em. and vice versa. in the midday sun i will take it off after every shot, so i dont have 1 hand bone white and the other tan. i know, i got issues

For years I had always left mine on when I putted.  But for the past couple of years, I've taken it off.  I have no idea why or what made me do it.  Putting is the only time I take it off though.  Even with pitches and chips it's on unless I'm using my putter.  I've tried to play without a glove and I can't do it...I just feel like I can't hold onto the club.  Kinda like it's slipping out of my hand.

I wear a glove for everything except putting, and then I always take it off.
I just like the feel, and have been doing it so long I don't think I could change now.

I wear fingerless gloves and generally leave them on. But yesterday it was SO muggy down here in S. Florida, I actually took it off to putt.

I take mine off to putt and between shots to help keep the glove dry, and because I don't spend much time in the sun other than golfing I tend to get the bright white left hand if I leave it on.

Yeah i take it off to putt,as well as short lob and finesse shots around the green.the feel you get transmitted to your hands is so habit ingrained,i doubt if i even have to think about taking the glove off.

I started out with a glove, and taking it off when I put.  My thinking was to always get as much feel and control from your hands as possible.  Nowadays, I play without a glove.  I think that evolved from playing in hot climates and getting sticky in my glove.  I may wear it late in the round if I haven't played in a while.  My personal favorite glove are the Hogan gloves.  They're buttery soft.

Glove comes off for anything on, or around the green (usually within 20 yards).  Just like the feel I guess.

I also take the glove off pitching - putting and IMHO can feel the clubhead or stroke faster vs. with a glove on.

I usually take off my glove for putting.  The only reason i really wear one is because my hands sweat like crazy.  But on putting, the club isn't really that effected by sweaty hands, theres not a great possibility of the club slipping out.  But i also take my glove off the air it out, so that when i have it for off the tee, its fresher and can grip well.  I also think that taking off my glove before putting allows me to calm down and take a moment, so that i'm not rushing the putt.  If i take it off, walk around my line and then address the ball, i feel like i'm ready, otherwise i tend to aim and fire, without giving myself enough time to settle into the shot.

I always used to leave the glove on for the entire round.  Started playing more this year and after a few rounds I was getting a pretty funny tan line so I started only wearing the glove for full swings, comes off right after I swing.  The glove stays alot drier this way as well.  Don't really notice any difference in feel.

i use a glove when hitting driver through pw. when i hit my 53*, 56*, 60* and putter i take my glove off. I take my glove off between shots as well.

My glove comes off for any shot I hit with my putting grip, whether a put or chip. It's more of a feel thing than anything else for me.
