He could but he's got to start hitting more fairways. Even with that...its a very tall order.
The only way I see Tiger winning (or anyone else for that matter) is if the Goose pukes on himself and by his play so far I can't see that happening.

Tiger is so good that his putting absolutely sucks and he is still in the tourny. If anyone else was leading, I could honestly say that a 63 by Tiger would not get the job done because Retief is in front and I cannot se him relinquishing the lead. The Goose has to have a Van de Velde like collapse for anyone to catch him. Giving 3 strokes to Goose in the US Open is like giving 5 to Tiger at Augusta, all you can hope for is a miracle.

NOT A CHANCE!!!
Not only is his current game not aligned with giving himself many birdie opportunities, let alone on a US Open setup, but his current swing (yeck) has affected his accuracy and IMO leaves him more often than not further away from the hole than he should be especially with shorter irons.
And while I feel bad saying it, I don't think he's got it anymore. His only wins in the future will come on courses where tour-quality accuracy is not a neccessity or the rest of the field is playing worse than he is or pure luck. Too often now he has shot himself out of a tournament on the first day, when too many others are posting good or very good scores while he's shooting an average one, and it leaves him too much ground to make up.
Not only doesn't the course have a mid or low 60's in it - but Tiger doesn't have one in him either.

El Tigre can do it. He can do anything. Goosen does not look dialed in. In fact, not one player out there looks dialed in. Is he playing well? Yes, hell yes. But anything can happen out there today and we all know it's about getting good breaks in a US Open. It's not always he guy playing better than everyone that always wins. Golf gods have their own minds made up.
David Toms will win!!
