Has anyone tried or know about removing the bungees on the first Speed Cart model? I'd like to find a different method of securing the bag to the cart or ditch it entirely. How does the second generation work without a bungee?

Ideas, suggestions, thoughts???

The first generation speed carts had 2 inch wide velcro webbing straps top and bottom. from the 2nd or 3rd generation to the last (5th I think?) they went over to an adjustable stretch cord - probably the bungee cords that you're referring to I guess - If so I think you're probably screwed, as the strap mechanism is one of the few things that I haven't seen an upgrade kit for from Sun Mountain. I would agree that the stretchy cords are not an ideal solution, although my bag only rotates if I overload the garment pocket on one side or the other.

The current generation's strapless model works a lot better, seemingly on friction alone, provided your bag is within the range of intended diameters. Maybe it's time for an upgrade? - Christmas is coming..

One thought: Sun Mountain's customer service is great, and they respond to questions very quickly. Might as well fire off an email to them. Let us know what they say!

Sun Mountain said it could be done but I'd have to buy the parts from a retailer and drill new holes to the frame. I'd imagine that would be pretty expensive. I might just deal with it.
