taylormade should focus on differentiating its lines better. i'm so confused with their latest driver offerings and their target audience.

their new line will be targeted towards which type of player?

If the new stuff is good I won't have a problem with it, but don't just keep on coming out with crap every 6 months.

Not so sure. My local store has way too many Burner drivers still from last year.

I don't see what the big deal is? If it's a good or different product then why not make it? I don't care if they come out with a new driver every week as long as their quality doesn't suffer. I'm loving my TBTP!

Yeah we all expect nothing less, eh? I wouldn't be surprised if they spread out the release of those new ones and put them out every 3 months............. seeing how TM have been lately, I wouldn't be surprised if they did!

Amazing how TM has conditioned their own customer base to wait 3-5 months to buy any product at a greatly reduced price!!! Just goes to show how cheaply made the bulk of their stuff is because they can still make a buck when the product is blown out at a greatly reduced price...

Like titelist does not do the same thing come on

Personally the TP7's I have in my bag are the best irons I have ever owned and I am out growing them( getting older and afraid they are a tad stiff for me) so I will be interested to see what the new offering is

I have only owned one taylor made driver and that was a few years back I also have a love hate relationship with my rescue.

I really don't care what they do, some of the clubs are just great.

My 07 Burner is the longest and best driver I have ever played and I still love my 06 TP MB Blades.

When and if this stuff ever leaves my bag, I might have to switch to another company to get a good forged CB or blade.

Are you mad at TM for coming out with new equipment all the time or is the real problem, you are angry at yourself for not being able to resist the urge to have the coolest/newest/greatest club.
**pssst here is a little secret (the new stuff might not be better than what you already have -- just newer)
Use the "Run what you brung" theory.
If your equipment is working for you, play it for a while, no one is forcing you to buy a new club whenever it comes out.
Ohh i forgot to add: IMOP

I was indeed.....TM can eat my shorts. Its toooooo hard as a green grass account to keep up with the constant changing of models, and the constant discounting of clubs. It doesnt represent value and as it has been said, the consumers are not stupid and will just wait 4-6 months and wait for the clubs to be sold cheaper!

Nickent, Titleist, RIFE, Cobra and Callaway are generally companies you can rely on for atleast a 2 year product life cycle

I for one am I looking forward to the new TM models :smilie_tm:

I only buy TM driver, woods and hybrids anyway at the moment - so please Taylor Made BRING IT ON sooner than later :idhitit: :golfer: :pimp:

I think they should release new stuff every week, as long as they keep the quality level up at the very top of the scale, I'll buy it, as long as it performs great for me :partytime2:

I always hated TM because of their annoying release after release after release crap, but with that said, I look into my bag, and what do you know...pretty much all TM!

The 05 Forged TP irons are the best irons I've ever even thought about hitting...so good they've seen well over a year in my bag!!!

The TBTP driver is great, and is the first driver sine my 905R Tour Issue that I can say will not go anywhere for a good while (I owned 14 drivers in 6 months after my 905R got demolished by my truck tailgate).

The TP wedges are perfect for me--good spin and feel, with the look of a what you'd get if you combined the Vokey and Cleveland wedge in my opinion.

The AGSI+ insert putters are great...offer awesome roll, just never beat out my Gauge.

The Rescue Dual TP is a great club. The best approach hybrid I've hit...flies high with nice forgiveness.

All in all, yeah, TM is annoying as s***. They do come up with some ugly crap, but in the end, I know they pay alot of tee up money to pros, but those guys are playing for their lives, and they still tee up this stuff. The TBTP was the first TM driver to get almost 100% love from the tour guys since the r7TP.

I believe that the Burner line is carrying through 09, but chances are you will be able to find decent deals by spring next year when another complete new line will more than likely be intorduced haha

Maybe they can top their previous high in SKUs. Shoot for 60+ in clubs... Confusion rains supreme when trying to determine what is new and what is old.. Best way to tell is trade your club in and your dealer will tell that by offering 25% of what you paid new 3 months earlier. :russian_roulette:

This is never going to happen, but I love the idea that TM will come out with one new family of clubs and just run with that new family that has already been designed to it's maximum potential, and then they'll wait a whole year to update anything.

Just fantasizing.

I'm sure you all already have this figured but what TM does is create some good clubs and invest in getting it in as many tour players hands as possible, then using that for marketing. Those solid golf clubs stay relatively high priced, like the r7TP irons, then they release line after line of new products to keep something new on the shelves all the time, which theoretically should make them easier to sell in stores. 'hey sir, why don't you give the brand new TM a try too.' This also means that old lines but still up to date clubs are always on offer. Despite being annoying for the golf junkie club ho, it's quite a clever marketing approach considering the shift of club sales away from pro shops and onto the internet and nationwide retailers.

I dont see why anyone is bothered by this, TM does it because people allow them to ,by buying the newest items, and if you have the hottest newest thing out , people will buy your product.

On the other hand i dont own one TM club and dont think im missing a thing. I just dont undestand how people are constantly changeing there bags so often. And I really dont understand the people who think that TM is screwing them out of some value in there clubs by releasing a newer model. Like something you bang into the sand ,dirt and rocks is ever going to appreciate.

It's three things:

#1, some guys can't stand the idea of not having the latest & greatest.

#2, some guys get aggravated if they paid full price & 6 months later the club's being discounted because a "new" one's coming out.

#3, some guys are worried about the retailer's position (I have sympathy here).

the high turnover does have some positives to the retailer that seem to be overlooked

1. True club ho's will make stops by more often to get the latest and greatest
2. Marginal club ho's will stop by more often as there is new stuff to see (maybe they buy tm, maybe something else, maybe nothing, but it got them in the store)

I guess I'm a little confused why they are adding so many new clubs so often? I was a TM guy for a few years when they had all the 300 stuff out. They were great irons and woods....but now its like they have a new flavor of the month every other month. How can a company refine their product when there is so many offerings?

I think they are applying the "shotgun" approach to sales......I prefer the "one shot/one kill" idea.

It will be interesting to see how they handle themselves having tons of new products during this economic down-turn. Anyway, most shops still have the 07 burner on offer neatly wrapped and collecting dust in their stores.

Its all about money and marketing to Taylor Made, the more they crank out the more money. Why only make one line of clubs when you can have 10. Dont get me wrong I hate TM for this also and dont play any TM products for this reason.
Im trying to unload a Tour Burner driver but its pretty much worthless on the bay.

I actually like all the turnover in TM offerings. I don't always understand what they are thinking or where they are headed (maybe they don't either). I do really like some of their TP-type offerings and if they keep releasing clubs every 4-6 months, there is more of a chance that I will find something that fits my game. If I wait about 8-13 months, it will be a couple TM selling cycles and the over-priced TP line becomes really affordable and usually finds its way into my bag.

TM -- keep it up.

They release stuff every 6 months or so and everyone complains. Cleveland doesn't release a new launcher for 4 years and everyone complains.

Also, don't the golf companies buy back your stock so you can put the new stuff on the shelf?

Yeah, I play all Taylor made now.. I don't know how it happened..My driver has changed to the TP burner and my putter is now a spider..

KOOL AID..

Golf companies do not buy back the inventory. They sometimes give you free product to lower the cost, but more often, make you buy more to get some relief on the old product. It is putting the hometown retailer out of business and playing in to the hands of large national retailers.
