Aside from Hugo and the young Aussie that just had a great Q-School result, this BB has been the same as all the others with the exception of Mesquite, nobody with the talent or mental game to really succeed on the big stage.
Two-gloves Gainey has been the exception to the rule (although I still can't watch that ugly hack swing or figure out how he succeeds with it).
I just take this show for what it is, nothing more than a golf game-show for average players to compete for some prizes.....oh, and to entertain us with douchebags like Dave & Sally (yes, her too)

I basically agree with your sentiment, but don't forget my all time favorite BB'er...Jeanne Cho just made through LPGA Q-school. Had to throw that in since I'm a big fan!

I'm sure there's a couple more that have more talent that I'm forgetting about - the girl from Hawaii that won looks to also have a pretty bright future and a lot of the guys from Mesquite had real game - that was the best series to date (imo)....well, except for the meathead wrestler/longdriver and A-god , lmao

I thought the show was great - Over 70% of GC viewers thought that Robbie and Amber would win and look what happened. I thought both teams were strong enough to make the finals, so it was tough for me to choose, but tonight I think it was all about team chemistry (or the lack thereof).
I talked to Amber about the show and how she was feelilng. She was pretty honest and up front. Frankly, I think she'll be okay. Jeanne Cho-Hunicke made it to LPGA this weekend and so who knows...Amber may beat her sister there even though Ashley won her Big Break!

Tommy succeeds with his swing because he's consistent with it. Ask the Champions tour guys. No swing or mental coaches. Just a consistent homemade swing that they made work. As for the show, I just couldn't get into it. I don't know what was missing, but it didn't do anything for me.

Gainey's swing isn't all that bad. He's got an odd grip and poor posture, but he's got some very good positions on the backswing and some excellent positions on the downswing (which is what really counts since you hit the ball with the downswing).
I'm not sure why nobody seems to give Camila credit. She has a downright superb golf swing. If she was say, Bernie's size, I believe with that swing she would be one of the longest players on the LPGA.

Pretty much no one involved in this show has any hope for a PGA or an LPGA future. Maybe Hugo and Bernadette, and possibly Robby if he gets some coaching.

I think Hugo has a great chance to make it on tour. At this point, participation on the Big Break, his game is more advanced than James Nitties's game was--and to refresh, Nitties finished T-2 at Q School finals. If not for a collapse in the final round or two at 2nd stage he'd have made the Q School finals.
Bernadette has a solid game, but hits too many loose shots--hence her missing out on making the LPGA Q School finals by quite a bit.
Robby has some game, and as he gets older, if he continues to work on his game he could work though the mini-tours and potentially have a shot.
James certainly has a chance, though he didn't display that here. He pretty narrowly missed out on making the final Q School stage also if I remember correctly.

Major props on Amber's interview. Who wouldn't respond to sympathy, friendliness, and respect blended with the subtle distance and neutral perspective expected of an interviewer.
If IMG didn't send it's players to 'dealing with the media' classes you'd have Tiger's real thoughts on Fluff, Butch, Phil and Rory before John Daly could make another headline.

Ditto on Michelle Wie - She was media-trained in diapers I bet - very cool in front of a camera.

Not trying to be combative, but I seriously doubt that "over 70% of GC viewers thought that Robbie and Amber would win". Most viewers that understand the game would have picked either Bernadette-Haymes or Camilla-Hugo after watching only a few minutes. If there was some sort of poll, it was not a very good one.

I've just had this feeling all along that Haymes and Bernie would win.
I nailed the final two groups back when the first show came on...they just looked like players.
It'd be awesome to see Haymes and Brandt get a chance to play together!

Hey Tim...did you see tonight's poll? It's 79/21 for H&C over H&B. What do you think it should be?
I'll tell you what I think after the show - LOL!

Hey, Arnold Palmer fans wouldn't get upset if you said he swing was hideous (okay, maybe a bit upset), but they'd have to admit, it's not the prettiest swing in the world.
But Haymes and Bernie couldn't possibly "stink" - they don't have to even make the cut IMHO to come out smelling like roses
So I guess I am a fan! Hard not to be with such great people. That being said, I think Hugo and Camila made a great team and I loved watching them play. Her swing is amazing. I would not have been surprised to see them win and I would have been very happy for them if they had. And given what Haymes said at the end - 'he didn't feel right to win', I think he would have been happy for them too. What a class act!
I spoke to Michael about that in tonight's interview. Tomorrow, I'll wrap up the BB X interviews with Andrea, Sally, David and, of course, Haymes.

In my opinion, Hugo and Cami have more potential as tour-level players, but I'm happy for Haymes and Bernie.....and hope they become the next James Nitties and Kristy McPherson.
I think I've said this in earlier posts, but I do wish TBB could work out deals that allow the winners a year's fees, expenses, coaching costs, etc. on to a developmental tour (Futures and Nationwide). I think that would best serve as a "break" rather than one tourney to tee it up on the big tours.

Hames looks like he is fly fishing. I want to hear Brandt rag on his brother's swing.
I think all of the other Tour successful unique swings had a few more fundamental elements. I see some horrid misses under pressure with that thing, although it hung up in this competition.
From what I saw, Hugo had the most PGA ready game.

Don't forget Big Break alumni "Two Gloves" Gainey - his swing certainly won't win any style points either!
This BB seemed to have the best group of decent players with much better attitudes and sportsmanship (besides Dave & Sally) than in past seasons. I just wish they would have shown more of the final match (make the last episode 2 hours) instead of showing last weeks episode at 9:00 and the final at 10:00!

agreed. looks more like he is trying to lasso the golf ball than hit it.
and he did have some absolutely horrible misses on the show. there were a whole bunch of short irons that he would up hanging out 20 yards to the right and drives that were abysmal. i cannot wait to watch him next year on the tour shoot an 85.
how do hugo and camila not win?

I was going to say the same thing, didn't the older Big Break finale's used to be two hours? For some reason I remember seeing most of the Kip-DD final during the second season. IMO, 2 was the best season yet.
Congrats to Bernie and Haymes, I wish them both the best in their respective tournaments. I think we will hear more from Hugo, he has a terrific wedge game which translated into a lot of birdies. PEI looks like it could be interesting, hopefully the talent pool keeps growing.

If the polls were any indication I think a lot of people thought C&H would win it, but as Haymes said in his interview today, the mental part of the game was his and Bernie's strength and that comes with experience more than anything. I have do doubt C&H will succeed in golf - they really are great players. They just need a little time.

Sounds like the Adam Scott effect. A pretty swing doesn't necessarily mean a better player. Haymes looks like he sets his hands way behind the ball and then needs to pick the club up to start his swing. Whatever works. I understand they edited the show for time but I would have liked to have seen his 4 birdies in a row to start. Ugly swing or not that's good golf. I was glad they won - I was a big Bernie fan.
