Medium or Cadet ML for me.  I like the FootJoy Stay-Soft.  I like it to be nice and snug, and have a "Thin" feel to it.  The one glove that I really can't handle is the Taylor Made.  It has a flapped seam that runs along the outside of index finger and it seems like it always becomes a hot spot when I'm hitting balls at the range.

Just my .02

I HATE HATE HATE loose gloves, it drives me insane. Especially in the summer here in AZ, the sweat makes em stretch out so bad. I keep 3 in my bag at any given time, and use an old worn out one for warming up at the range.

Tight, like cutting off blood circulation tight.... I wear a cadet ml and could wear a mens ml and have it fit tight the first few rounds but I like it so I can't fully stretch my fingers....

+1 on liking it best Pink and Tight....

There should be an option for Just Right. I voted loose because i hate tight gloves that restrict my grip, but i would never wear a glove too loose that moves around.

I wear an XL and i'm only 5'9" still in highschool

BTW i wear footjoy gloves and bite off the stupid ball markers on them.

I started with a Bionic M/L glove, nice and tight. Then I found gloveless was nice and tighter and have never looked back.

I like to get a glove that's like a second skin, so it has to be pretty tight. Don't like the feeling of it moving/slipping at all when swinging.

Snug, but I hate when the seam rolls over on my thumb, ending up on the club.

I have somewhat a small hand.  I wear Men's Small.  The fingers fit the perfectly.  The palm area is rather snug, but I know it will eventually loosen up.  I tried using a medium, but the fingers were very loose.  I was worried that the club may move around if the finger area of the glove was loose.

Is this good for your health?  I would like to wear the StaSof all the time, but they wear out fast (sweat, etc.) and are pretty expensive for a glove.  I have gone to the WeatherSof and Bionic Glove (yeah, more expensive, but I believe they last longer) and the leather doesn't stretch as well as the StaSof and I can feel the loss of circulation in my hand.  It gets better after a couple of rounds, but definitely not a good feeling.  So far the fingers may get a little pink, but they haven't gone purple yet.

I find it depends on the brand whether I purchase a L or XL glove. I like a tight fit but I prefer extra stretch in the fingers/knuckle.

I buy FJ Weathersofs that fit a little tight at first, but they loosen up nicely over time.

I size out to a large glove and wear medium large. the first round of practice at the range with a new glove is actually somewhat uncomfortable. I can;t stand any feeling of looseness in my glove. Towards the end of last year, I went gloveless for a few rounds and actually may start the season that way next year. If I can grow accustomed to no glove it will be at least 1 extra club ho purchase per season as I burn through gloves so fast its ridiculous.

i wear a size down to get it as tight as possible.  90% of the time I toss out gloves for stretching out before wearing out.  In the summer  (SoFlo) I go through 4-6 gloves a round rotating them out as they get soaked and stretch.

Not a whole lot of glove options for a lefty so I usually get the  fJ weather softs

Like Mcgee I have no choice, they don't make a glove that isn't tight. 2x spiders from footjoy were the closest I found to a comfortable fit out of the box. Generally use a readily available xl and let it stretch to fit. Last summer went with no glove as my hands would sweet too much rendering the glove useless after a hole or two.  At the same time I found this stuff called Tight Grip, which inhibits perspiration and used that for a while, worked great and will be getting some more soon.

G

MrBig,
You mention you can't find a glove that isn't too tight, including XLs...have you considered or tried a 2XL glove? Depending on where you're feeling the tightness, this might solve your problem. FootJoy offers all of our gloves except PureTouch in sizes up to at least 2XL (StaSof goes up to 3XL) and I would be happy to send you a sample if you want to try one. Just send me a PM and we can coordinate.

Also, you mention the old SYDR gloves were a good fit...this is a very timely mention of a great product that you may see again soon. As with SYNR-G, FJ ICON and PureTouch, you guys will learn about our new products very early on, so stay tuned for more.

Thanks

I don't like the gloves to be terribly tight because I always feel like they wear out quicker, so I would say I'd prefer loose.

Also, I really hate gloves with extra material below the wrist.  I don't like that look leather just kind of hanging out around my arm.  Really annoying.

It's hard to believe that this thread started over three years ago. Who dredged it up?

1. I can be quoted, if one wants to dig it up, as being somewhat skeptical of the value of a golf glove.  I do wear one (when I remember), but I often wonder if the reason is more psychological than physical. I have said here that I though a glove was merely a crutch for a worn out grip. That might have been an exaggeration. But if you don't replace your grips every once in a while, I stand by it.

2. In the recent cold weather here in Oregon (hey, cold for us is below freezing), I found myself at the range without my golf glove but with a pair of gloves that were designed for very light duty - like driving a car or just walking down the street. Not heavy winter great northern Mountie MushYouHuskies style by any stretch. So I wore them while practicing and found that I was not losing control of the club (and my hands were warm, too.)

My conclusion was, heck, keep your hands warm with something reasonable and don't worry about it. Mittens, I haven't tried. Monster-finger gloves, I can't imagine.

So, in answer to the OP, if he is still around: pretty loose and sloppy but comfortable beats tight and/or cold or wrong size as far as I am concerned. Warm weather, well, no glove is better than one I would worry about being too loose, but I don't think that gloveless is worse than a properly fitting glove. Maybe better; maybe not.

i use the tightest gloves available.

actually i have given up using golf gloves ...i have instead switched to batting gloves. fit a lot better, the quality of the leather is better and thicker, and the wrap goes around the wrist. love those batting gloves.

Give me a Cabretta Leather CML glove all day long. Nice and tight, just like my w... Never mind

I tend to use Titleist and FJ, but have been known to use others if the fit and price is right. It has to be TIGHT.
