I usually get em WAY too small, because they always end up streching out anyways.  But yeah, get it right, get it tight!  I would say the only set back to tight gloves is that they wear away much faster...

In the past I would usually buy a large and it would fit kind of loose.  A medium was always too tight, so eventually, I settled on a medium-large which produced a nice, snug fit.  I feel that I can feel the club a little better this way and I'm not cutting off my circulation, which is how it felt in a medium.  Now if I put a large on, it feels like a huge garbage bag LOL.

Just received a dozen of Footjoy Stasoft and SciFlex gloves in my new size - Large.

When I try my totally new glove on, I must admit that the glove almost squeeze my hand, but I know (and hope) the glove will stretch as I wear and use it and hopefully will end up with the perfect fit for me after 5-6 rounds of glove wear  

When I bought size X-large gloves, they would fit me perfectly at first - nice and tight - but soon would begin to loosen up and end up being to large for me.

Do you accept you have to tighten your glove to make it fit tight and correctly after each shot ?

I use large and I like a tight fit around the fingers and a loose but tightish around the wrist and my gloves of choice are FJ Sci-flex, FJ Sta-sof and callaway pro series

Gotta go with the looser fit, with a tight fit I just don't seem to feel the grip as well.  It feels better after I stretch it out but until I get 3-4 round on it, it just doesn't feel right.  I've also noticed that it's the tighter ones that seem to wear out sooner.

How about a topic for the best fitting glove of all -- no glove.  

I haven't played with a glove in years, and I seriously doubt that I ever will.  It's inexpensive, provides excellent feel and almost immediate feedback on swing faults as they begin to creep in.  

Ben Hogan never used one.  There are at least two tour pros who don't and almost everyone putts without a glove.

I made up my mind about five years ago and lived with only slight discomfort for a couple of weeks until I got used to it.  It is the way to go, and I highly recommend it!

I use a medium-large glove.  Its a perfect fit.  My favourite golve has to be this orlimar one i picked up, it was fairly cheap and all cabretta leather, fits like a dream.

usint the Player Glove right now, in Cadet Medium, small is too small for me and the Cadet Medium isnt tight but isnt too loose, i just have to make srue i dont stretch them too much

i think if your glove isnt tight or at least not loose... it wont do its job and i think could potentially create some blisters or things of that sort on your hands...

my favorite gloves are really any footjoy gloves, or the callaway warbird glove. The warbird glove its great because you get good grip and they come 2 in a pack and they last forever, good for me when the school season comes around. i tried out nike gloves and they get ripped apart

anyone have a suggestion on how to refrain your glove from getting all stiff a nappy when you stick it in your bag? i hate when your playing when its hot and your hands are sweating, and when you go to put your glove on the next day its all crappy

I was always told that you should only be able to half close the velcro on the glove to ensure a tight fit as the leather will stretch over time/

I have rather small hands (at 5'10 I am not that tall anyway) and play a FJ Sciflex in Small. As tight as possible.

I try to hit wedges and in without a glove, but honestly, at times I leave it on... even when putting.

I tried that "Bionic" glove, and really liked the way it felt. I've been using one since late last year and it is still holding up, though near the end ... I also like the SciFlex as well, but the Bionic does feel a little different.

I play with a Titleist Perma-Soft majority of the time and i wear a Large and like it to fit pretty snug almost like a second layer of skin. I dont want the glove to feel anything like a FootJoy raingrip or their gloves for the cold cold cold weather.

I have the exact same problem as you describe here.  New gloves feel nice and tight, but they don't stay that way for long.  I re-tighten my glove several times per hole.  Still, I find that after a few rounds, the glove is too loose and slippery to use any longer.  (left an old one at the range today as a matter of fact)  These were Nike XL gloves.

Let me know how switching to a large works for you.  I might try a large for myself in the meantime.

Well, I tried a large glove after posting in this thread last month.  It fits better during the round, but I can't take it off and on during the round to putt or for short shots.  The large glove is just too small once my hand gets all sweaty and wet.  Bleh.

I have to have mine fit tight.  I love to wear nice cabretta gloves, but they just don't last very long.  I tend to go through a glove every 4-5 rounds.  



btw - cadet M is my size.
