[Viking Golfer]

Hey,

Up until now, I bought my gloves in size X-large, because I felt this was the correct size and fit for me. However rather quickly (after maybe 5-6 rounds of golf) my XL glove began to feel kind of loose and I had to take it on and off after each shot to make sure the glove would fit me tight and correctly.

How do you prefer your glove to be ?

Just received a dozen of Footjoy Stasoft and SciFlex gloves in my new size - Large.

When I try my totally new glove on, I must admit that the glove almost squeeze my hand, but I know (and hope) the glove will stretch as I wear and use it and hopefully will end up with the perfect fit for me after 5-6 rounds of glove wear  

When I bought size X-large gloves, they would fit me perfectly at first - nice and tight - but soon would begin to loosen up and end up being to large for me.

Do you accept you have to tighten your glove to make it fit tight and correctly after each shot ?

Claus, sounds like the L is perfect for you! I use M-L and they're a tight fit out of the package, but after a few holes they're perfect. The Stasof is a great glove by the way!

I use a large cadet, and I like them tight.

Yeahhhh Michael - just got an offer on a dozen of the Titleist Perma Soft gloves - but don't you think FootJoy makes the Titleist gloves anyway, as Footjoy is owned by Acushnet - so maybe the Stasof and Perma Soft are close to being identical

For me, it's a moot point.  I take size XXL and they're still pretty tight.  I don't really have the option of loose-fitting gloves, but tight is alright with me.

Tight fit all the way.  When my glove is too big I feel like the club is slipping throught my hands.

IMO I believe that when you put a glove on, the correct way to find out if it fits is to put it on and open your hand. If the center in your palm is pulled tight and you can push it down and it pulls back tight then you have the correct fit for your hand.

According to Footjoy a proper fitting glove should be tight and the Cabrerra leather will stretch and mould to your hand. If you buy cheap gloves then I dunno.

I like mine tight, since they tend to stretch after a round or so. Gloves should feel like a second layer...to loose and the grip will slip in your hand, plus will wear out quicker. I use either Titleist Perma Soft or FJ Sta-Soft, both seem to wear pretty well.

Titleist Players glove, cadet medium. i like a nice tight fit... as soon as a glove get a little loose or worn i save it for the range and practice rounds and break out a new one....that is when im playing tournaments.

I am looking for a very tight fit in the hand and palm, with just enough finger room to be able to open my hand. The tight fit will eliminate any bulk slippage.

Like Mcgee I have no choice, they don't make a glove that isn't tight. 2x spiders from footjoy were the closest I found to a comfortable fit out of the box. Generally use a readily available xl and let it stretch to fit. Last summer went with no glove as my hands would sweet too much rendering the glove useless after a hole or two.  At the same time I found this stuff called Tight Grip, which inhibits perspiration and used that for a while, worked great and will be getting some more soon.

Cadet medium.....and if it isn't fairly tight then you've got the wrong size....

Med-Large is the size I wear, and I prefer that it is a little on the tighter side.  It isn't at the point where it is really tight, but just tight enough.  If that makes sense.

My favorite glove turns out to be very cheap! Yeah! It's the golfsmith half glove...ladies large. I'm considering one on each hand for the summers down here in florida..things get slick. I can also toss them in the wash and air dry them. Nice.

I wear a Footjoy in ladies small on my left hand.  I buy them a little on the tight side because they eventually stretch and loosen up.  I hate it when a big glove bunches up under the grip or slides and twists around on my hand.

I don't wear them so I don't really know, but i have always been curious. I played baseball in college and batting gloves are tight, but nowhere near as tight as golf gloves are.

for the reason Mina says... if it bunches or slides there is no purpose to wearing one. It will also wear out faster if it's loose.

For the record I dont wear one either anymore since the first time I tried many years ago.

i like using no glove if possible but ny is a little hot right now for that.  i was practicing the other day with no glove and the club flew out of my hands and into my house.  thankfully it missed any windows.  i have a few right handed gloves for when i play or practice in cold weather.
