Not just from his play, but just learning how he is, who he is, has become a huge Boo Weekley fan?

If this guy plays in a tournament near me I'm definately going to watch him.

How can you not love a classy great guy like Boo Weekley. Finally, a REAL person, unlike some stuffy robot rich guy out there playing helping win.

Great player? Yes, absolutely. Boo played great golf and came up VERY big for the US team. He deserves all the credit for great play.

"Classy" player? Sorry no. Not for me. Everyone has their own opinion of his antics, and he didn't do anything that will kill anyone, BUT I would not want a teammate of mine acting that way in a match. It may be just me, but I am also not a big fan of spitting tobacco on the green. :russian_roulette: In fact, I think it is pretty awful.

Great player yes, but IMO his act on Sunday was more than a bit boorish, and his "aw shucks...yessir"/poor grammar is not endearing to everyone.

I'm a bigger fan now than I was before the RC, but I could do without some of it (spitting tobacco, whatever that "horseback" riding of his driver was, etc).

I like the fact that he brought something new and some enthusiasm to the RC and, despite the fact that I'm nowhere near a "good 'ol boy", he seems like he'd be fun to be around.

I didn't see anything out of line today.

Look, the only thing this guy did was pump up the crowd when Westwood had a chance to half the hole. His team mates I am quite sure schooled him on this breach of etiquette and he did not do it again.

I like Boo, he really is a breath of fresh air in a game where too many of the players whilst ranking high in the golfing talent category they rank low in the charisma category.

Sure I think he was a little over the top on Friday (I also think that Sergio is over the top as well) but the thing I cannot stand is the spitting! I hate it when Tiger and everyone else does it. There is no real need for doing it and it's even worse when they do it around the green.

I am an old guy and I laughed when Boo took off from the first and rode the driver. I still chuckle about it.

I am tired of the robot golfers we have now. Have a little fun out there!!!

Bravo Boo!!!!

the people that dont like him sound like the exact people that the "average" golfer are sick of ;) ^^^ Poncy rich whiners...

I like him, its fresh to see someone other than the "rich" boring players.

I loved watching him over the last few days...

His grammar is part of him, just as a Koreans would be theirs. And spitting tobacco... aw shucks... can we dig anything else up? would rather tobacco spit on the sole of my shoes that crap smoke in my lungs... Get over it :)

Go Boo :)

I don't like him. I guess it's like comedy, when I prefer extremely subtle or totally outrageous. The mid range sitcom garbage does nothing for me.

Boo is obviously tilted toward bizarre but I don't think he quite gets there. Plus my instinct is it's somewhat phony.

I did love the line about the Saturday shot out of the bunker slotting as his 9th best, behind the 8 aces.

Why? Do you put the ball or your hands in your mouth while you play?

Who cares?

Classy?! He has the least class of any golfer on tour right now.

That doesn't mean he's a bad guy. He seems pretty likeable and down to earth, but he lacks class in spades.

He fought an orangutan at a country fair when he was 16. You had to get in a cage with it and if you could land a punch on its face you got $50. He woke up in the back of his mate's pickup after the o0rangutan knocked him cold in one punch!

I've played a lot of tournament golf with Boo, he doesn't spit on the greens. He might spit near the green, but not on it. He's exactly the same way now that he was back then. Except he can putt now!! What a great guy and was so so exciting watching him play great this week.

Give me a break. Boo might not be the most refined person there is but I bet he is 100% sincere and 100% original. I saw nothing out of him this weekend that would create anything but admiration and fondness.

What is is about his poor grammar that bothers you? Fortunately for Boo, you will never have to worry about partnering with him in a match, let alone the Ryder Cup.

Agreed, I have gone from only having one or two players that I like to a BUNCH.

Anthony Kim, Ian Poulter (can't help but like that guy) Hunter Mahan, many others..

Boo is as genuine in person as he is on tv. That, I can assure you. I like many different tour pros for different reasons. Their attitude, demeanor, their game, their reputation off camera etc. I dislike just as many for similar reasons. That's all personal opinion, and part of being a fan. As far as this tournament goes; it's not a regular format. It's Yankees vs Red Sox, Ohio State vs Michigan, name em all. There should be that much emotion involved. None of these guys would carry on like this at Augusta or any tour event but this is a team game where emotion of the entire team and gallery feed off each other. That emotion no doubt shows in their performance. Might as well get used to it, cause this is what its gonna be like for this event from here on. Why not for crying out out. That was the most exciting three days of golf you will see. Back to Boo. Terrific guy, golfer, and good for the game.

Classy?! He has the least class of any golfer on tour right now.

That doesn't mean he's a bad guy. He seems pretty likable and down to earth, but he lacks class in spades.

I guess class is a very personal definition. And I define class as a person who respects the game and those who play around them. While I think Boo made an error Friday which appeared to be corrected. You dont see him finishing a hole and leaving the playing partner behind a la Sabbatini or speaking of Sabbatini how about when he ditched out on Sunday of Tiger's tourney.

I think Boo is like a fine wine. There are certain tastes for everyone. Boo maybe a box of wine but hey sometimes that is all you want!

boo is the man, but i was impressed with a lot of players this week, anthony kims demener was great, stricker showed a lot of passion, poulter was phenominal, mahan was phenominal, i didnt see a lot of fake emotion, the fact that everyone was clearly into it really made it enjoyable for me, its nice to see the players themselves actually give a crap

I agree with all above but you left one out that was phenomenal and that was Karlsson, that guy made ever thing he looked at, watch out for him in the future!!!

I was yelling BOO the whole time...and when I say "BOO" I was cheering...not booing...

Not sure if it's all an act or the real deal...kind of hoping it's the real deal. It'd be nice to see someone who is just himself and not a "TV" personality.

What was that I heard about him wrestling an orangutan??? WTF??? They even said he got knocked out! Now that wouldve been hilarious to see! Can you even imagine seeing something like that??? hehe

He fought an orangutan at a country fair when he was 16. You had to get in a cage with it and if you could land a punch on its face you got $50. He woke up in the back of his mate's pickup after the o0rangutan knocked him cold in one punch!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OMG Im actually sitting here laughing. that is AWESOME! HAHAHAHA!
