I suspect it's just his way of lifting the pressure. A breath of fresh air. Touch of the Gazzas, eh Euros?

Garcia getting relief is a stretch imo, but it's not gonna help him. Hopefully Kim doesn't let it bother him.

2 for unplayable, 1 for relief.

If the player deems his ball to be unplayable, he must, under
penalty of one stroke:
a. Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which
the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5); or
b. Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay, keeping
that point directly between the hole and the spot
on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far
behind that point the ball may be dropped; or
c. Drop a ball within two club-lengths of the spot where the
ball lay, but not nearer the hole.
I assume he went with option b.

2 clubs lengths, OR, keep the original ball location between you and the hole, and go back as far as you want. That's what he did.

I just saw what Boo did on the 1st tee. I have no problem with it since Wilson had his back turned and so their was no deliberate intention to rattle him.

Correct....
From USGA.org
The player may deem his ball unplayable at any place on the course, except when the ball is in a water hazard. The player is the sole judge as to whether his ball is unplayable.
If the player deems his ball to be unplayable, he must, under penalty of one stroke:
a. Play a ball as nearly as possible at the spot from which the original ball was last played (see Rule 20-5); or
b. Drop a ball behind the point where the ball lay, keeping that point directly between the hole and the spot on which the ball is dropped, with no limit to how far behind that point the ball may be dropped; or
c. Drop a ball within two club-lengths of the spot where the ball lay, but not nearer the hole.

Sergio is cheating again ust like against Singh a few weeks ago. He's using his influence as a superstar to get favorable rulings.
Martin Laird doesn't get the ruling.

Right...
Taking an unplayable with a 1 stroke penalty is definitely cheating...

I remember quite a few roars from the crowds in Spain at Valderama's 17th hole when several US balls found the water there. Call that just deserts.

And if the spectators can't act properly they shouldn't be watching.
p.s. I was waiting for the 'just desserts card' and the 'you did it once, and so, until the end of time, we shall respond by doing the same..'

Improperly would be disrupting play due to behavior. What the spectators did on 7 was react to shots.

It was spot on accurate. The crowds at Valderama were just as raucous as those here.

I've never cheered someones bad shot, don't like it never will, I believe most competitors want to beat their opponent when they hit their best shots not when they hit bad shots.

Online says 5 iron followed by a 4 iron. He's ahigh ball hitter so the wind must have really knocked it down.

Yip shame on me for expecting a wee bit of respect for the players, I don't mind USA USA chants, I don't mind Boo get the fans up (after the hole) but cheering a players bad shot is poor.

NBC sux...we've already missed a few first hole tee shots and putts with minimal holes to actually cover. also watching 5 minutes of garcia trying to drop, we miss 2 other holes woirth of coverage....pretty pathetic.
