Damn I guess I should use my putter cover after all.

Wsc04forever mentioned that it could scratch the shafts.  I'm waiting for the cover to arrive but I checked ............... my graphite shafts have a smudge from the putter working itself out of its pocket.

I've been leaving the bag in my trunk.

i use the club glove blade putter cover. it protects very well and easily fits in my pocket while i am putting.

For fun I got a Loud Mouth putter cover recently to try out.  I had used my factory Titleist cover for Scotty Cameron.  The cover is black and white.  To me, as good a reason as protecting your putter is to mark clubs on the green.  If I leave a wedge there, I mark it with my cover, if I get back to cart and don't have cover, I left a club.

yep.  Las Vegas is my favorite place in the world so I use the Las Vegas scotty cameron cover from 2005

Use a cover when traveling, but when playing inleave it off as it doesn't touch any other clubs while playing!

I would always use one if I could find one that didn't fall off.  I use an 8802 style putter and everything I have found slides off the putter as a trudge the bag on my back.

Tuba, this is what I use. Black leather, fur lined, velcro. It won't fall off and they're like an ol' leather jacket when they get broke in. I started using one years ago with an old Slotline putter. They came with them. Now I get them off the bay when they're available.
Thought I'd throw that out there, don't know if you've tried one yet.

Always! Wish I could find a replacement for my Backstryke DART. They fall apart fairly easily.

I always use a headcover.  My dad used to borrow my old Odyssey putter, and he never used the headcover.  Now, the Odyssey is all dinged up.  I bought a new putter for myself and let him have the old one..

I had not tried one of those.  I had tried several others.  The fact that I no longer have them speaks to their effectiveness.  I recently purchased a "blade" headcover from GG, but it falls off just sitting in the bag.  I'll look for something like you posted.  Thanks, Kelso.

Yes.  Keeps it from getting dinged.  
Also, it goes next to the Driver in the bag, so the cover keeps the putter from scratching up the driver shaft.  
Lastly, while putting on the cover, it gives me time to cool off after missing a 4 footer for par, and this prevents me from throwing my putter in the lake!

An old Pro Platinum cover does the honours atop my wand (or one of a pair of black Art of Putting ones, with suitably oily interiors, will be pressed into service along with its matching club if I'm using a gun blued putter). It's there as much to prevent the long and mid irons getting clonk marks on the hosels as much as it is to protect the putter head. It's a bit faded and has a bit of crazing on it now, but it still does the job. I've got about ten of the things in my stash, in a variety of designs and hues, but I like that old grey one.

My dream cover is a personalised one like Rod Pampling's: with a big coat of arms device on it with whippets rampant and a knight's helmet surmounted by a flat cap and some bread and dripping and a load of dancing English and Norwegian flags all over the rest of the thing; but, somewhat disappointingly, I've never seen one quite like that in the shops...

you should email girlygolfer, the coats and arms, and other things you want and she'll do it

I use a head cover on my Cameron putter.  I do not want a bunch of dings from it rattling in my bag.  I like to take care of my stuff!!!!
