I've finally made it all the way from Raleigh and am just starting to get the twitches from not playing :)

I wanted to know if any of you were familiar with clubs looking/offering memberships to young professionals in the South Bay area.

I've been researching and seen only a few San Jose CC, Silver Creek CC, Cinnabar... At least ones that a young professional could afford !! :)

I'm in my mid to early twenties and really enjoy links style courses that aren't really packed in too tight (looks like I need to head south on the 101 right?) I'd really like to find a club that has an active tournament / event schedule for me to participate in. I feel like I'm advertising for a date here sheesh!

Though I'm not great yet, I am eager to learn. I'm hoping my 10 years of hockey translates into something. Breaking 90 consistently is my current goal. First step is getting that handicap set up!!

Thanks all and have a great weekend on your tracks!

Will

My brother-in-law is a member at Silver Creek (had back surgury so he hasn't been playing) and is a hockey fanatic. His kids are both in Hockey teams and they have season tickets to the Sharks and know some of the Sharks players since some of them head to the same places after games...

I have played the front 9 of Silver Creek, and it's nowhere near links style but is nice. I also know the head pro there, brother of a friend (I have no pull and he may not remember me). I don't know anything more about it, but you could find out I am sure. I have no idea the price range for membership, but I have heard that most private courses are looking for new members.

Ah thanks for the heads up with Silver Creek, I still need to give them a call. Work has just slowed me down :)

Hrm since im not from around here where should i be ideally looking if im working in lets say the Montague / 101 area ?

My goal is to get out to the course in the early after noon say starting 2-3, just curious if i should be looking north or south based on traffic.

Anyone played Boulder Ridge? the course looks awesome in pictures.

Thanks!
