Looking for affordable courses in the Phoenix area to play Feb. 17-22. Going down for a soccer tournament with my son and going to try and squeeze in a few rounds. Would like advice on courses that won't break the bank.

Thanks in advance.

Staying in Chandler. I've looked at 602.com, just looking for recommendations from those that have played in the area.

Thanks.

We have several public courses that are very affordable and still good quality. I also agree with sticking with golf602.com for good rates. Feel free to write me for more recommendations and ideas but one course on the site definately worth a try is Bougainvillea Golf Club - www.bvgolf.net

Also check the City of Tempe, specifically Ken McDonald at http://www.tempe.gov/pkrec/golf/ and City of Phoenix, like Aguila and Papago at http://phoenix.gov/SPORTS/golf.html

Papago is the best public course in the area. It's a real challenge that will make you hit every club. You better call for tee times.

Lone Tree is a course on www.golf602.com that would be another good course to play.

I played here in 1999 on the blue and white nines: www.ocotillogolf.com

This is still my favorite course...didn't hurt that I shot my best score ever ;)

Not sure what your budget is, but the ASU Karsten Course is a great track and reasonable at $77.

Check out Longbow Golf Club (www.longbowgolf.com) in Mesa. Also, I have to agree that Karsten would be a good choice. If you are willing to pay a little more, the course to play is WeKoPa (www.wekopa.com)located just outside of Fountain Hills.

Bear Creek in Chandler is another enjoyable course for a reasonable price.
