Like the look of the Cameron. But love the feel of the bett. I like a softer feeling putter. What makes scotty Cameron putter so popular besides the looks? Letís hear it guys

Putter is such a personal preference thing. There is not a ton of tech (or any) in say a Scotty Newport I just like the looks and feel of the putter.. Ping Anser is asp a similar putter that saves some cash

The heel toe weighting on the Cameron is supposed to be help moi.  Probably the only advantage?

I'm a Bettinardi comvert. I have a Betti BB1 (16) and a Cameron NP Select ( deep milled).
I prefer the Betti, and I really like the 18 BB1 with the fly mill. May pick one up as well. Great soft carbon feel. Better feedback for me than the Deep Milled Scotty's or the new ones with the insert, which really suck, IMO.

I got an '18 BB-1 and like it a lot. The carbon steel has a nice feel to it. It's a 350g head regardless of length, so it's a little lighter than the Scotty.  The neck attaches a little further away from the heel on the BB-1 so it has a little less toe hang as well, that may be a consideration for you.

I prefer Scotty over Bettinardi.  I've gamed both and actually hit them both again today at PGA - the new Bettinardi's.  I think they're excellent putters but I like the look and offset of the Scotty better and the feel is slightly smoother for a Scotty.  I would consider SC, Bettinardi or an Evnroll - to me those are the best putters out there.

If you are just going 2018-19 models of the Newport vs the BB1, I don't think it's much of a contest.  The insert on the Cameron, to me, makes it a inferior product to the Bettinardi in both craftsmanship and feel.  Also that the BB1 is $100 less than the current Newport makes it a no brainer in my mind which is the better putter.

I despise pretty much all inserts unless they are copper, like the old Kevin Burns hidden insert or the Tei3/buttonback.  The new studio select insert feels the same as the old one to me.
