Getting fitted for a TS3 and want to know what my ideal figures might be.  I play the Titleist 910 D3.   My clubhead speed is 109-114mph currently 44.5''.  I play the Fubuki 73x5ct x flex 8.5 degree.

My swing tendency is to hit up on it maybe a little excessively circa 4-7 degrees.  As a result my spin loft is 14 degrees plus. Maybe 17 on my bad shots.  My launch angle gets too high (I think?) around 14-16 degrees.

My backspin gets a little high 2500-3400 depending on strike.  My ball speeds imo are lower than what they should be low 160's.  I feel I should be 165-170.

My peak height can be 140 feet. Into the wind I feel I am losing distance.

I have tinkered a little on trackman reducing my dynamic loft to bring the spin loft down but then I seem to lose carry distance.  The Trackman optimizer seems to confuse me a little.  One particular shot on trackman said my optimised carry was 285 but in reality I carried it 294yds.  My launch was 16, spin 2168 and height 140ft. Yet Trackman is saying I should have launched it 9-12 degrees, spin loft of 6-10 degrees (seems too low!), and spin of 1400-2100.  I presumed 1400-1800 is too low?? No?

Should I work on reducing my attack angle and dynamic loft or get a really low spin shaft and driver?  If so what would my ideal numbers be?

If getting fitted let the fitter determine what you need.

Based on your numbersyou probavky want to reduce Aoa and find the center of the face more to about the 3000+ spin (2500 bye isnt high, thatís roughly what tour pros are trying to achieve) for most 12-13* launch and low-mid 2000s are going to be ideal

The highlighted problems are usually a symptom of poor impact location on the club face.

The first thing you should work on is improving the face impact location and it's consistency. As long as you are not getting a good face impact location (and keeping it consistent) then the launch and spin numbers can NOT help you select a loft or shaft.   Or rather, you can not hope to fix any launch and/or spin issues with a head or loft because the impact location is going to be the dominant factor in what those numbers will be.

This is the best tutorial on a way you can help yourself "fix" the impact - at least as far as equipment changes are concerned.  The possibility of swing changes should generally be considered as well.

Then, after you can get good impact, then you can look at the launch and spin numbers and other equipment (or swing) changes that might help optimize those numbers.

So - unless you learn how to get the ball in the hole in the fewest strokes - these numbers become pretty meaningless

Is this what golf has become? Chasing numbers?

I actually got fitted for a TS3 already but got recommended the Hzrdus smoke.  My spin was still too high 2800 or so and launch was still a bit high.  I never got to try the Even flow white which is a lower launch and spin shaft.  I found that odd.  So I am scheduling another fitting with someone else soon.

I think it's from an iteration of the trackman website.  Got it off one of the forums a while back.

I’ll second Stuart’s point that you’ve got issues with your impact location... a variation of 1000 rpms in spin is not caused by the shaft unless the shaft doesn’t feel right to you and is causing you to make bad swings.
