I don't understand why everyone is so impressed with XS's 62.  It took him 18 holes to reach 62.  I was on vacation (from Toronto) in Florida the past 2 weeks and played 11 rounds.  I never needed more than 13 holes to reach 62!!

I think the 1st rule of Golfwrx should be: "If you're going to start a thread about a player--spell his (or her) name correctly in the thread title. Violators will have their thread deleted without warning."

Zndr is in my book the real deal. The guy never looks worried or uptight about much of anything, and can score with the best of them.

Remember Friday at the Open this past summer when both Xander and Zander were contending? That was confusing.

Nah.  The OP must be relentlessly mocked.  It is more much entertaining.

Saw everything I needed to see in his rookie year, looked the real deal and was hugely impressive. I expected this kind of golf from him.

I like him for the US Open this year.

Imo his performance this week was good but there's been better in the last couple years alone on tour
back to back birdies down the stretch to fire a course record 11 under final round to win from 5 back? no there hasn't.

Great finish for sure but not even close to the most impressive on tour in the last couple of years.

More a feeling than anything and also factoring in pedigree leading up to this point. Some golfers I just get a feeling about or non feeling. Trust me Iíve been wrong more times than right. Iím not a Bryson fan but he has won the biggest tournaments at every level and Rahm and Champ just seem to be more atheletic. Not a hater though.

Come on guys, you know OP was trying to really say Z-ool-ander Schaeffele!  now I want to call him Zoolander Souffle.  I think he can pull off the blue steel too.

Regardless, Xander still a cool name.  His dad did a great job grooming his game, and also gave him a great name!

He’s like a Chihuahua. He doesn’t realize that he’s small and maybe not as physically gifted as the other players. It doesn’t matter, because he’s just so dang tough.  He doesn’t have 1 ounce of quit in him.  And for a smaller guy, he pounds the ball a long long way down the fairway.

I wouldn't say The Z Man isn't physically gifted, comparing him to others. It's my impression watching him that he is. It's subtle, but he appears to have a very powerful build for golf. I wonder what his athletic background is and/or if he's been squatting buicks. Tipping my hat to his dad, too.
