Iím not rubbing it in to my golf brothers held hostage by the weather - honest. I think about you guys and canít imagine how hard it would be not playing for months. Standing on the range today I realized what a good decision I made moving to an area that allows for year-round golf.

Gee, I have a pretty much the same view in Chicago, except tall buildings in place of the mountains and snow clouds in place of the blue sky but at least the horrible mats at the practice range are green (more or less) - oh gee you have green grass ... won't be seeing much of that for about 5 months. Hope you enjoy the off-season golf we will be thinking of you :blind:

Wait, you moved from Palm Springs, CA to St. George?

St. George is awesome, but in terms of winter weather, that's a bit of a downgrade from Palm Springs, no?

Canít argue with our weather here in Tucson. Sure it can get over 110 in the summer, but you can literally play golf 365 days a year here. Todayís high was 71.

You're dead to me

;-)

By the way, I *did* play last saturday.  Sure, the sun wasn't shining, the ground was soaking wet (except 1/2" down, where it was frozen) and the air was a nice balmy 35* F, but I did get a round in on December 15th.  It make the winter just THAT much shorter.

*complete active brag, I did shoot 74 with a bird on 18, so I'll see you in March.

For sure - PS winter weather is the best. However every other area of my lifestyle has improved with the move. I consider myself a refugee from the People’s Republic of California. I escaped soon after retiring.

Ent to the range today. Weather cloudy, temp 62#. Aside from having to wipe mud off your club after every shot, it was alright. The problem here is that winter is the rainty season. It has been raining an average of 3-4 days a week, and the course doesn't have time to  dry out between rains. always " cart path only". The range is closed most of the time.

Most courses are closed around Boston but a few remain open. But with all the rain lately they're too wet, but spending time at the range (only a few of those open too) keeps you sane during the winter. And as my game has recently disappeared the range is the better choice. But playing during the winter isn't too bad even when it's pretty cold as it's quiet, and you can play quickly even if you practicing your swing.

My clubís range (in Richmond, VA) has been closed over a month because of historic levels of rain. The temperature has been reasonably nice other than a week or two stretch.  But the local ranges and courses are all basically mud pits right now.

I did get in a round earlier this week, but it was very soggy.

No. Wife marinated pork chops that I grilled.

I live in Richmond,VA and this is the first year that I have been unable to play in December.  We have had a ton of rain then over a foot of snow.  Virginia does not handle snow all that well.  I hope that it will dry out in time for a winter round, but it is looking bleak.

If anything can go right, it might!
