2019 Bag:

Driver:  Ping G400 Max 10.5* (HZRDUS Red HC 6.0)

3W: Callaway Rouge 15* (HZRDUS Red HC 6.0)

Hybrid: PXG 0317x 19* (KBS Tour Hybrid Proto 95g Stiff)

Driving Iron:  PXG 0311x Gen 2 19* (HZRDUS Black HC 6.5 85g)

5i - 9i: TM P790 (DG 105 S300)

PW: PXG 0311 Gen 1 (Modus 105 Stiff)

52, 56, 60: PXG 0311 (Modus 125 Wedge)

Putter: Byron DH89

Ball: TP5X

I've been excited for to give this challenge a go for a while now just to see what improvements come from a little bag consistency. The putter is going to be my biggest challenge. Four different putters saw action in 2018. Its going to be tough not being able to rotate when I am not cooperating with the current gamer but I really hope sticking it out through the tough times will make me a better putter in the long run.

I just got new irons, and my goal for 2019 is just to keep ONE iron set for the year. Impossible.

My WITB will be my 2019 bag... but if I'm realistic, maybe mid-season change drivers. That would be IT.

I've never made it past one month. Ever. But this year will be different. Why? I'm starting the year with nearly classic clubs that I've always enjoyed, and just re-gripped.

It'll be a laugh at the end of next year to see where I'm at. I am quite happy with all but 3 clubs and so maybe they just need more attention. good luck to all the serious people wanting to stay just the way they are. plus, happy new year too.

I still have the same driver and sandwedge that I started this challenge with last year.  Thatís a first for me.  My bag last year did not make it out of January.  The putter is always the first to go for me.

I and battling shafts in the driver, but I have all 3 I’m trying... so that would count, right?

Well...guess I got a few days left before finalizing lol. Failed miserable last year.  I still have to decide on wedges and 3 wood.

Bag so far:

PING G400 Max 9, tour 65s
PING G400 SFT or PING G400 3 wood, both tour 75s
PING G400 2 hybrid, tour 85s.
Srixon U65 4, modus 105s
Srixon z785 5-PW modus 120s
Edel dvr 50, s200
Edel dvr 55/60 or Titleist 54F, 58K
Scotty Studio Style Newport 2 gss

I am non commital on sand wedge and lob wedge.  Edel or Titleist.  Edel are custom engraved with my kids names on them so there is that.  I am leaning towards G400 SFT for 3 wood.  So easy to hit.

I need some time with the wedges
...I do believe the Edels will be going to Florida with me though in Feb.

PING G400 Max 9*, Adidla Rogue Max 75x
Callaway 815 Alpha 3W and 5W Speeder 665 stiff
Srixon U65 4, Modus 105s
Srixon Z785 5-PW Modus 120s
Edel DVR 50, s200
SM7 54F / 58K
SC Studio Style Newport 2

Love this yearly thread. I think for the first time since picking the game back up 5 years ago, I'm 95% convinced I can play 2019 with this setup. The only ??? are the Ping Blueprints and when they will be released.

OP, may I propose we add some spice to the 'contest' and make everyone a little more invested. If we each sent $1, $5 (whenever you decide) into a pool with the year end winner scooping up the proceeds. We could also send the $$ to the charity/foundation of your choice. Just a thought...

I think that once I finalize my wedge composition, things are pretty safe for the year. I can't find any driver that produces more ball speed dollar for dollar than the LTD, wedges are wedges once you get the right grind, and my shafts have all been fit. Only thing I could see getting kicked are MAYBE the Miuras if I find they end up being a bit too punishing on miss hits. So far on the simulator I'm loving them but we will see once things get outside. They do tend to spin quite high so I may need to switch from CSX to TP5X to cut some iron spin off.

Charity is a cool idea. I think the hard part of any money game would be verifying that the winner played all year with the same setup, but for a charity contest it could be run on the honor system. It would be fun to have a pledge where you have to give more to charity based on how badly you failed. So a $5 pledge would mean if you lost in February, you pay 10 months x $5 = $50 to charity. If you made it to June, you pay 6 months x $5 = $30. There could be a "bonus" for how many clubs changed... an extra couple bucks to charity for each club that changed. Pledge could be any amount and if someone wanted to just do a small pledge and just donate locally they could. That would remove the need for anyone managing it or handling people's money all year.

By that scheme, last year I would have been paying 12 months x $5, plus 14 clubs x $2 = $88. I failed miserably last year.

Set for 2019

Titleist TS2 - Project X Smoke 9.5
Titleist TS2 3W - Evenflow White
Titleist 818 H2 3 - Tensei White
Titleist 718 AP2 4-P - Project X 6.0
Titleist SM7s -- 50/54/58
Scotty Cameron Newport Select

Think if we could list 1 conditional club as an extra it would be fair as long as we are listing it up front, not a different putter just cause your current one starts misbehaving or shaft changing, but a club thats used depending on type of course your playing or playing conditions.

I specifically would list my TMB 2 Iron Project X PXi that I'd use on shorter courses that are tight and pull my hybrid out of the bag.

2018 was a great year but man I changed my bag a lot. 2 drivers, 5 putters, 4 wedge sets, 4 iron sets, the only club that didnít change over was my 3 wood. I lasted until about mid-January last year...so the bar is set pretty low.

Iíve got an all Taylormade bag right now after playing almost the whole year with a mixed bag. Iím really happy with my irons and the driver is improving since switching the shaft out. 3 wood is probably going to be where I fail this year.

Driver: Taylormade M3 Hzrdus Yellow 6.0
3 wood: Taylormade M2 Hzrdus Red
Hybrid/DI: P790 UDI Hzrdus Red
Irons: Taylormade P760 4-PW Dynamic Gold 120
Wedges: Taylormade MG 50 & 54 and Hi Toe 58
Putter: Red Spider Tour T Line
Bag: Sun Mountain 14 way

Letís see how it goes!

Well after an absurd couple months of buying everything I liked the look of I can say my bag is set for 2019 after picking up the Honma irons and Cleveland wedges. The only chance of something changing is the 3W but it’s unlikely. Time to start collecting ball markers I guess!
D: TM M1 9.5* Aldila 70X @ 44.25‚ÄĚ
3W: TM M2 15* tipped to 42.25‚ÄĚ
Utility: Callaway Apex UT 19* C-Taper lite 115X
Hybrid: Ping Anser 23* Proforce VTS 85HX
Irons: Honma TW737V 5-10 Nippon Modus 120S
Wedges: Cleveland RTX-3 50* & 56* bent to 55*, RTX-4 60*
Putter: Scotty Studio Design 3 (full blacked out)
