and before anyone jumps on me for the 'luck' comment. i'm referring to the hotdog tent drive on 13 and the subsequent helluva drop with nothing but a runway to the green. no obstructions.... ie: trees, tents, towers.... i'm always punished when i miss the green by 30 yards....seems he rarely is. where's the trampled down grass from the gallery when i need it...eh? another lucky moment is having karlsson putt before you on a similar line on 18. gave him a sweet read on the break at the hole and the speed.

Is it just destiny for him to win? I do not know how to describe what I have watched. Friday he lights it up with the putter on the backside making 3 twenty plus footers and shoots 30. I thought that was pretty amazing and a bit lucky.
Then Saturday he is hitting it all over the place, and makes two eagles , how many times could you let Tiger putt those putts before he would make one of them again much less both? Ten , twenty , thirty. The pitch shot that went from sure bogey to birdie in and instant.
If you were competing against Tiger would you think you were being outplayed or that he was a lucky son of a _______ then again he keeps doing it over and over.
As his millions of millions of fans worship him as if he could do no wrong, millions and millions hate him.
Many of you seem to think this is a great major because of Tigers play. Too me thats not what makes a great major, its the competition not just one player.
If today the top three players shoot under par and it comes down to the last shot , that would be a great major.
If Tiger shoots 73 and his competitors disappear as they choke there lungs out that will just be another disappointment.
So as I sit down to watch it, who will I be rooting for ? I will be rooting for golf, I will be rooting for someone to make a fight of it.
Ken
x2.
This is a fantastic tournament. It isn't just what Tiger is doing, its the fact that there are 8 people within 5 strokes of the leader. This is close, and no one is dominating. (Actually the only thing dominating is the course itself ... its beating everyone). With everyone so tighly packed, and doubles so common ... people are moving up and down the leaderboard in quite a sudden way.
Makes for a great tourney. I am a fan of Tiger's ... I'd love to see him win. (It seemed, to me, almost impossible on Thursday ... and that knee has got to be getting worse every day. He's undoubtedly playing in pain.) But I don't want to see him win by five ... I want to see him win by one, on the last hole, after a fantastic recovery shot from the rough ...

Hi--not sure if anyone else has already responded to your question, but you might want to try both the USGA website as they have daily interviews on their US Open web page [might be 'in print' and not video however] and also Tiger`s web site always have his daily interviews available. And you also might want to try both 'The Golf Channel`s' web site as well as the web site of NBC Sports. Hopefully there will be some interviews available at all 4 web sites.

Agreed Ken. I am praying for an exciting and close final round, but I just can't see it happening. I'll be rooting for Westwood but predict he'll shoot a 73 or 74 whilst Tiger will card another 70 to take the honours.
I can't see Westwood having a total collapse, just not doing enough to compete with Tiger as so many other players have failed to do in the past.
Pity really.

Funny, Anybody notice when he made that huge eagle putt on 13, he was dancing around like a ballerina ? I am not saying his knee doesn't hurt. But I am saying he is faking some of the antics on his less than par efforts. I don't think the knee will be the reason he wins or loses.
Tiger is my favorite. However, I would almost enjoy a total meltdown today for the simple fact that I am so sick of the media's TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER TIGER coverage.

It would be considered a big advantage if you could take all the time you wanted on each shot. Why should they have that luxury when the golfers ahead of them don't have the same.

Yeah dude, thats kinda messed up. I would never wish bads things on a competitor, I always wish them well, and hope that I can play my best and still come out on top.

Seeing this dude hurting himself over and over again (he screamed a few minutes ago) is almost the same feeling.

Adam Scott had to have been using some sort of serious painkiller. I've broken my hand in that spot, and i know the pain is bearable, but no way you can play decent golf with it.
If I had to make a guess I would bet hes really watching the meds because being on too much of that can alter your focus, and with a guy like tiger, I would bet he wants to deal with the pain and be 100% mentally focused.

Finally Tiger is hitting fairways. Things appear to be looking up
It's still anyone's game. Tiger would have be taken off in a stretcher to stop him from chasing this title.

I agree--why would he 'fake' being in pain? If anything he doesn`t want to reveal any weaknesses--his father taught him that a long, long time ago! He`s had 3 surgeries on that knee--anybody who thinks he`s 'faking it' has never experienced knee pain and knee repair. Earlier today it was reported that Hank Haney said that a 'fade swing' hurts Tiger`s knee more than a draw [although Johnny disagreed!] which is needed on the 2nd hole and I`m sure he`s had a 'game plan' before his first shot on Thursday. I think his course management is in place, just his execution of some of the required shots are not [don`t we all have that problem?!?]
What is 'mind boggling' to me is what he has done since 1992--3 consecutive US Jr Am`s, then 3 consecutive US Am`s, a NCAA individual championship, his first 5 months as a golf professional [qualifying for the `96 Tour Championship etc], and then setting new records in wining his first professional major the 1997 Masters. And since then he`s gotten REALLY good!! All of that is 'mind boggling' to me!

My Knee kills me all day long. I have no insurance and have to deal with it. I feel I made a fair assesment of Tiger Gimping on bad shots much more than his than good ones. I was referring to yesterday's round mostly. I never said I though He was faking the injury, I said I thought he was milking it a bit. Drama Queen style.

Then Tiger does the same thing what is stupidity like a flu bug there.
That was not Tiger like at all.
