For me it was:


Outside takeway
Not lifting up the club in backswing
Coming over the top when leading with the trail elbow

I realized I needed to drink more beers and less water while playing. Just kidding...sort of. This is crazy golf 101 but I did realize I needed to  play the shot I was hitting....and not be bummed about the bad one I just hit or thinking ahead to my tee shot on the next hole. I also have worked hard to find and stick to a more consistent putting routine...this is always been an issue for me.

I hope I've fixed my tendency to get stuck on the back foot (thanks AMG for opening my eyes)

I also hope I've fixed my backswing being too deep and my strong in to out swing path

I only say hope because although I've dropped a couple of shots off my handicap in the last month I'm not sure how fixed it is on an ongoing basis

Not completely fixed, but made great strides at least in “playing golf, not golf swing.”

Developed a “hitch” in the backswing which took a month or so to eradicate.  Fought the slide for the millionth time.  And finally have decided to putt LH Low.  And now that I’ve got all that sorted out (I think), I’ve re-injured the right wrist (slight tear of the TFCC).  Crap!!

Major putter change has helped me drop a few strokes per round. Mostly getting the ball to the hole more often.

Improved a deeper, truer hip rotation and shoulder turn.

Improved lower left side geometry, clearing shoulder away from chin & getting arm off of chest faster

I spent a lot of time on transition to P6 stuff but really if I worked on lower body instead, it would have solved the problem. So that was a wasted effort.

EDIT: Had best progress in putting and chipping stroke, honed in on shoulder behavior to much more consistency.

Fixed? No.  Working on? Always.  Constantly maintaining setup and the adjustments for various shots.  My annual battle continues with the early and quick inside move during the back swing.

Eliminated the cost of practice by getting a PT job at a local Muni with a lighted driving range in preparation for my first competitive season in the Sr ranks!

I haven't 'fixed' anything really, but have made great strides in improving:

- pressure shift
- pivot
- swing speed
- face-to-path

Further improving pressure shift is key to me making further gains with my irons.  It'll support improved pivot, strike, and delivery of consistent dynamic loft

I remembered how to hole putts longer than 2 feet. It's amazing how much easier this game is when you're not taking 40 putts per round. Hitting 7-12 greens per round and three-putting most of them is soul destroying.

* Chipping (sorta fixed). I've dropped back to one swing, club to suit. A bit crude but rarely goes seriously wrong at the expense of rarely being perfect. Adequate is safe :)
* Driving and long hybrids. Coming good. At least I'm now launching them properly and I know what I need to do to stop fading. Just got to program it into my muscles.
* Putting is better, don't leave it short anywhere near as often.

Sadly the swing changes appear to have upset my wedges a bit :-/

Good long game, good short game, good putting. Pick any two :-/

The only thing I've fixed is my thought process going into the new year. The status quo is no longer acceptable. I've played too many tournaments and casual rounds with high hopes, only to finish at the bottom of the heap. I have a lesson planned this week to get a start on turning my game around in the new year. *rolls up sleeves*

Lots of work on the BS, pivot, early transition. Properly extending in the BS, pressure shift vs big sway,less right shoulder down early in transition. Not at all fixed per say, but a big improvement. 3 different things, but all intimately linked. Anyone who says " you don't hit the ball in the backswing" is silly.

My swing got worse and my handicap dropped over 2 shots at one point. I think I managed to groove my stall and flip.

Too many to list but if I had to pick one, I'd say learning to swing with my feet. That encompasses proper sequencing and shift in pressure for more effortless speed and power. Prior to this I had a problem with hips sliding way too out and swaying as I threw the club from the top.

Also went from never hitting the driver last season and therefore being really bad with it to being the most consistent club with a baby draw as my stock shot for this year and being able to work the ball both ways. Thank you Skytrak.

Agree to disagree, but there are certain back swing positions that basically make it next to impossible to put a good/consistent move on the ball. It plagued me for 2 years and it wasn't until I fixed it that I saw measurable improvement. Everything about the swing get's easier when you put yourself in a good position at the top, you make the game much harder than it needs to be by adding compensations if you don't. Would you say getting out of the blocks on a 100m sprint is important? How you start directly impacts how you finish.

Fully agree. I struggled for years with a flat, deep, long back swing and it was really not helpful. Now slowly getting to a shorter, steeper more connected back swing and it makes life sooo much easier. Any good instructor should first start to make sure that the back swing is not a hindrance to a good swing.
