Definitely playing Fallen Oak...

I've read a lot of the posts but few are very recent (last 6-12 months) so curious if anyone knows which conditions are usually best and which course would be best to add to our trip? Less houses the better, more interesting the better. Some of the group are single digits some are 25+ handicaps. We are going in April

If I missed any good recent synopses please link it and i'll check it out

Thanks in advance

My favorite of the three was Grand Bear. If you like isolation, you can't find a better course to match the description. It's built in the middle of a forest, and not only are there no homes along the course, I don't believe two holes run adjacent to each other.

We (16 of us) go every year. This year will be our 7th.
This is my order....
Fallen Oak
Grand Bear
Preserve
The Oaks
Shell Landing (except for the sand flies that drive me mad on the par5)

You need to eat at Mary Mahoneys and Half Shell Oyster House.

I think itís one of the most fun best value golf trips you can take food and drink is super affordable. And if youíre lucky(I never am) you can pay for the trip with casino winnings.

If you have any questions feel free to message me. Iíll help anyway I can.

The Preserve, Grand Bear and Shell Landing should all suit your needs. Don't worry about housing.  I also liked Fallen Oak, but  didn't think it was worth the extra cost. I think the Preserve is the most interesting layout of the bunch, but they are all fun and worth playing. Here are links to photos,

Grand bear is my favorite.  Great layout.

And I like the preserve more than fallen oak.

I guess if you want the experience and all the bells and whistles you should do fallen oak.

FO is the same Fazio white bread- not really interesting but nice tight fairways.

Preserve is more enjoyable, just a little on the short side.

Bridges is probably 30 min west, and is a decent course, but definitely 3rd of these 3.
