Hi.

Got a Ping O Blade, and just wondering what the head on this is made of.

Anyone out there know what they were made of, or if there are different compositions?

I thought they'd be steel or Bronze. Did they do a BeCu version?
And there is some greenish corrosion visible so thinking there some copper in there. And this one is more copper/redder than it looks.

It's manganese bronze. They didn't make the O Blade in any other material as far as I know.

Thanks vman. So I take it, it's the bronze that corrodes green?

Yeah? I thought they were fairly common (for a putter that age).

Are they rare then?

I also have a Ping Blade (not O or A or anything, just a straight "Blade" I've never been able to find out much about that one.

O-Blade's are great putters.  Very simple,  essentially a center shafted putter.  I have been on the fence about grabbing one off of Ebay but ya just know it will feel light as heck compared to putters of today (That's even before adding a larger grip).  I don't want to look down at a bunch of lead tape so would have to put on the sole but I don't know how to apply it like you see the pros do.  The ones who do use lead tape have it stuck on there  that it looks like it melted onto the club.

lol.. As to the Unicorn comment...  Man that makes me feel old.  Use to see O-Blade and the A-Blades quite often.
