Unfortunately one of the courses I play frequently was vandalized some time last night. These were posted on their Facebook page. Im assuming it was some highschool kids. Heres to hoping they get caught!

Speaking from experience - this was most likely done by someone who tried to play the course without any knowledge of rules, etiquette, manners, etc....or was told that they couldn't bring their own alcohol on to the property to consume.

Like I said - speaking from experience.

Raccoon Hill Golf Club

And you’re right about the shotgun, I’ve heard people firing off a .22 while getting ready to hit my tee shot before. Adds character .

Consequence for their deeds has to be imposed.  Those did this probably thought less for the possible consequence following their action.
I'd like to see them be responsible and pay for the repair of the green plus the lost of revenue of the golf course ( possibly extra for local golfers whom have to travel to golf somewhere else ).  Make them think twice before they'll do something like this , even again.

Those are the deapest ruts I have ever seen on a course. Hope they catch them.

Restitution as penalty won't be enough. Taking a shotgun to them is too swift...unless they are able to linger...

Hate to see that. As I’ve said in other circumstances...punish the deserving. And these idiots that did this are deserving.

This happened to a course near me early in the summer. Small family run course, during the peak season. They had locals coming out to help fix the damage or help in anyway possible. It was a great story, unfortunately they never found who did the damage

Would be AWESOME if they caught the people and the ruling judge was a member at the course... Make an example out of them. Unfortunately the scum (or teenagers) that did this more than likely dont have the resources or money to fix S#!*.

Like ohioglfer said that is a really strange set of tread marks. The ones with 2 deep lines in the middle of the pattern.

I just don’t understand how anyone does this.  I don’t care if it was a “dumb kid”, I never would have even considered vandalizing someone else’s property when I was a kid. Apparently my parents raised me properly and whoever did this clearly wasn’t.

It is unfortunate, but these types of antics have been going on forever.

It happened at the course where I caddied, over 45 years ago....another course I rebuilt in the year 2000 (altho, there, the people who did the damage came forward to me out of respect...for me, not the course. Appropriate actions were taken).

And, it doesn't seem to be limited to courses in the country, altho....I would say it is easier for it to be done without any repercussions there, as there is less likelihood of being caught.

I always suggest to courses I consult to obtain, and regularly move/monitor camo hunting cameras....the more, the better.

But, in the final analysis....it's grass, and it will grow back. It isn't like we don't punch a bunch of holes in the greens a couple times a year anyway.

Hard to tell from the images but how far apart are the wheel lines (stance)?

Yes, those tires appear unique so probably a slower moving vehicle which would point to a very local culprit.

+1 on the trail cam suggestion.
