Depends.  Most of the time my 60°.  My 54° for longer/upslope shots to run out a bit more and 64° when I'm super short sided.  My 60° opened up can get up quickly but it just doesn't have the "bite" like my 64°

Used to use my set 49* gap wedge a ton, since upgrading my wedges I'm using my 54 for most greenside shots...fringe shots I close down on my pw for a bump and run, maybe a 9. But for actual chips around the green I'm using my 54 for most shots now, unless I need to get it higher in which case the 60 comes out, but I've learned to only use the 60 when I have to.

50* if I have a long distance to cover, 60* if it is shorter.

I spend a disproportionate amount of time practicing with the lob wedge, so I am more likely to flop it close than to play high percentage shot with less loft.
If anything can go right, it might!

I try like no ones business to incorporate the 60 degree, I am just far more effective opening a 52 and gaining a bit more spin and control (added bonus of more bounce).

I am fairly feeble with my wedges.  Seve would be embarrassed for me with my wedge play.

Depends on the distance and amount of check available. Most of the time I'll use my 52 Vokey SM 5. If it's rock hard, I may go down to 9 iron. 58 SM 5 if I need to get it airborne.

Just to illustrate how things change as golf courses change, I used to use a 7 iron almost exclusively. Greens were slower so it was easier to control and a 1968 Slazenger Plus 7 iron probably had the same loft as a modern 9 iron..

I prefer to use "lower" lofted clubs whenever possible to get a bump and release....instead of a bounce bounce check.  So I'll go all the way down to a low 30's loft club, if only a few feet of carry is necessary with a lot of green afterwards

I've been known to be a coward and attempt to putt from 2 feet into the rough.

"I'll give it a little more" I say quietly, so that the nearest person knows this is on purpose

Followed by the ball either hardly making the green, or smashing it all the way across into another tuft of rough

whats in the bag?

Same for me.  I use any iron with the lowest loft to just carry fringe and run out.

For bump and run-8 iron, 9,  & pw.
Most  of my chips are with my 50, and it rolls out a little.

If I want it to check quickly, the 53.
My 57 lob\sand is for sand only, or to clear a tall obstacle.

With my hickories, I tend to use my mashie niblick (8-9 iron) with my modern clubs I tend to use my 50 deg gap wedge.

Over the years, I have found more success using one club as opposed to different clubs based on distance, etc.
Just an older guy with 7 or 8 clubs and a MacKenzie Walker bag

Depends on the lie and what shot is needed. Ill use anything from a 60 to an 8 iron.
I think getting advice from guys who are sitting at the computer in their underwear while taking a break from porn is a very solid way to choose clubs. - bluedot
